While The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom may now have taken over its status as the big game everyone’s talking about, if you’re not a Nintendo stan or simply prefer lightsabers to swords, you might still be enjoying playing through Star Wars Jedi Survivor.
Odds are you’ll have quickly become engrossed in the nuanced adventures of Cal Kestis, but, regardless of how invested you are in the poncho-loving Jedi’s romance with Merrin, if you’ve made it a decent way into his story, you’ve likely have had to get pretty good at Survivor’s combat.
Now, though, some of those who’re getting close to achieving 100% completion have already started debating how they’d like to see a potential next entry in the series add to Kestis’ array of abilities.
How would you want to see Cal Kestis' combat abilities evolve in a follow-up to Star Wars Jedi Survivor?
The intergalactic warfare-based wishes of these hardened Jedi form the subject of a recent thread on the subreddit r/fallenorder, which user Serrated-Jello kicked off by asking: “With five distinct, viable stances to choose from in Survivor, how do you think the devs will improve upon the combat in the (series’) next instalment?”
Their fellow players responded with plenty of ideas regarding additions and refinements Respawn could make to Kestis’ killing capabilities.
“Realistically, I imagine they will expand the skill tree, add new combos, new finishers, and lots of general 'final touches' and balancing fixes.” suggested user TheSerpentLord, adding: “For me personally, it would be (ideal) to have just the classic (single) lightsaber, with all 7 forms fleshed out in the skill tree. It would be cool if they can incorporate dual wielding and such, but to me, that's just not a priority.”
Others, such as user zackdaniels93, emphasised their desire for the ability to switch between stances more fluidly when already in combat, either via “transition attacks” or a radial menu that speeds up the selection process.
Meanwhile, user TheFrayneTrain went the Pimp My Ride route, advocating the addition of “sub-stances within the stances themselves” that could mirror the specific styles of Jedi from the films.
