Most of the hardcore Bethesda RPG fans who’ve invested thousands of hours into Skyrim and Fallout 4 can't wait for the release of Starfield.
Some have been passing the time until September by creating tabletop RPGs that allow people to take an early trip into space, putting together massive documents about its mechanics, or submitting questions for next week’s developer Q&A session.
Others have begun to kick off the process of preparing to make mods for the game, at least one of which could be particularly heartwarming, with the place where you’ll find the majority of these works once the game is released just having gone live.
Are you looking forward to seeing what modders can do in Starfield?
As announced on the Starfield Modding Discord server, the game’s dedicated Nexus Mods page is now visible to everyone, marking another step in the long road towards its highly anticipated release.
“The Starfield page is up early! If you're planning to make a mod for the game you can start setting up a mod page now,” declared Nexus Mods Community Manager Pickysaurus in the announcement.
That said, they also noted that “any mod pages made visible before the game is released will be placed under moderation,” so don’t expect to see any actual mods pop up on the platform prior to the start of September.
Currently, the page contains a welcome message which reads: “Starfield modding is coming soon. Join us on the hype train for the release, as we're preparing to unleash a galaxy of creativity and exploration - let's journey to the stars together,” in addition to some useful links to things like the site’s Starfield modding wiki.
The fact that the page is now live also means you can go ahead and add it to your account’s ‘My Games’ tab in preparation for release. This will put you in prime position to start browsing the inevitable deluge of mods that’ll arrive not long after the game does.
While, as some modders have warned, these early works likely won’t be able to do anything too complex to the game, they’ll probably include plenty of useful minor tweaks to it, as most of the mods that’ve arrived for Baldur’s Gate 3 so far have.
Regardless of how keen you are to see when the first mod that mutes the Adoring Fan’s dialogue arrives, make sure to follow us for lots of guides to Starfield’s world and mechanics.
