Fighting game fans are salivating over Tekken 8, which is set to be the biggest game in the series thus far. It’s not only big in terms of roster and game modes, as the fighter will also be taking up 100 GB of your preferred gaming system.
Bandai Namco has revealed the fighter’s PC specs (via PC Gamer), which revealed that it would take up at least 100 GB on PC. Considering how this fighter is also coming to current-gen consoles, we wouldn’t be surprised if it also ends up being 100 GB on those systems.
Since Tekken 8 is the best-looking game in this series thus far, and also has an impressive roster, the amount of space it takes makes sense. After all, Mortal Kombat 1 also took around 100 GB, while Street Fighter 6 was 60 GB, which isn’t too bad but would have been a few years ago.
Unfortunately, 100 GB games are quickly becoming the norm in gaming, as most AAA titles tend to take that much space or more. Modern Warfare 3 actually takes up more than 200 GB and that game is pretty bad, despite the nice visuals.
Luckily, it looks like Tekken 8 will be a feature-rich fighting game when it comes out, with plenty of single-player content in addition to online play. Fans of the Mishima family drama will enjoy Story Mode, which features the latest showdown between Jin and his father Kazuya. We also hope that Reina shows how she’s related to the family, those most of us are assuming she’s yet another child of Heihachi.
Beyond the story, there’s also the usual Arcade Mode ladder that fans love, hopefully, with individual endings this time. The fan-favorite Tekken Force Mode was also leaked, showing that it’s going to take some cues from Dynasty Warriors.
