Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is still alive after all these years. Most fans had assumed that Ubisoft would eventually move on from the live-service shooter, but that’s not the case. Ubisoft has released a new statement about the shooter, confirming that there is proper support coming next month.

On the game’s official X account, it was revealed that the new season would be starting on February 25. In addition to updates that will keep supporting game, Ubisoft confirmed that some new DLC is being developed. However, this extra piece of content is going to take a while, so the new DLC won’t be coming out on Year 6.

“We know you are eagerly waiting the release of the upcoming DLC. To ensure we deliver the best possible experience, we’ve decided to take a little extra time to refine it, therefore the DLC will not ship during Year 6.”

Many fans are wondering why Ubisoft isn’t pivoting to The Division 3 or doing something else. Teasing DLC for a years-old game like this is just upsetting, since the live-service title hasn’t had much to offer players in a long time.

Ubisoft has made some baffling decisions with The Division 2. The developer canceled a free-to-play spin-off called The Division Heartland to work on XDefiant. It took a few years, but Ubisoft has also stopped working on XDefiant, making all of that a waste of time.

Considering some of the decisions Ubisoft has made over the years, it will be interesting to see if they ever learn their lesson. Sure, games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows look decent, but it could suffer from the studio’s tired open-world formula. We don’t think the company is going in ruins but with rumors of a potential sale, it’s not looking great.

That’s everything we know about The Division 2 right now. For more on Ubisoft, fans can check out how Assassin’s Creed Shadows is heavily censored in Japan. Retro gamers can also read about Sonic actor Ben Schwartz owning an Anbernic handheld, which is pretty cool.
