Cheating in Call of Duty: Warzone is on the rise again, ruining the free-to-play battle royale game for fans. After a massive attempt to stomp out CoD cheaters, Activision’s new anti-hack tech seemingly isn’t working.

Warzone players on Reddit are complaining, once again, about a new wave of rampant cheating in the multiplayer game. With Warzone Season 6 Reloaded just around the corner, fans are scared that the new season will be ruined by cheaters.

In the Reddit post, CoD fans explained that cheaters are coming back in droves after a period of reclusiveness. Even more worrying, these new cheaters don’t appear in lobbies and cannot be reported.

Call of Duty Warzone has been plagued with cheaters for years now. Fans have been complaining about wall hacks, aim bots and all manner of other cheats since launch and, despite attempts to quell hackers, cheats are still running rampant across PlayStation, PC and crossplay matches.

Fans praised Activision’s recently implemented Ricochet Anti-Cheat for its ability to stamp out waves of hackers. Unfortunately, it seems the AI-powered hack detection software is still unable to actually stop cheaters from playing Call of Duty: Warzone.

“When Warzone 1 came out it was like that, [filled with cheaters],” said one fan. “When Ricochet came I truly saw an improvement, but now it's becoming Warzone 1 again.”

Other Warzone players discussed their encounters with cheaters in the current version of the game.

“I was placed in the same lobby as one of the most blatant rage hackers I've ever seen THREE TIMES in one night,” one fan explained. “This despite blocking him the first time. In solos the next night had games with teamers and guys glitching under the map for the win. The clan tag was [HOW?!?]. They don't even try to hide it. So glad they got kernel access to do nothing.”

Call of Duty: Warzone is just about to release its Season 6 Reloaded update on October 17, 2023, the same day as its Halloween event. The update will bring new map reskins, a DOOM chainsaw, as well as new modes to play.

Warzone is currently available to play for free on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
