God of War Ragnarok Pre Order Details
Pre orders for God of War Ragnarok start on July 15, 2022, so you don't have long to wait. Decide which edition you want, and to head to your storefront of choice to complete the purchase.
Luckily, that's still several months ahead of the game's release date of November 9, 2022. Therefore, you'll have plenty of time to choose which edition of the game to opt for, given there are several.
God of War Ragnarok Special Editions
Yes, Sony Santa Monica is releasing a range of exclusive special editions for God of War Ragnarok. In total there are five different versions of the game, all available on both PS4 and PS5, with pre orders going live on July 15.
First up is the Standard Edition. As you may expect, this comes with nothing more than the base game, on either PS4 or PS5. Like other first-party Sony games, if you buy the PS4 edition and later upgrade to PS5, you can do so by paying a $10 flat fee.
Next is the Launch Edition, which is the base version of the game available prior to the November launch. It comes with the game and two cosmetic skins: the Kratos Risen Snow Armor and Atreus Risen Snow Tunic. Those come through a voucher code within the box, so expect later prints of the game after launch to not include them.
The Digital Deluxe Edition will also be available at launch, containing the full game and plenty of extras. These are as follows:
- Kratos Darkdale Armor
- Atreus Darkdale Attire
- Darkdale Blades Handles for Blades of Chaos
- Digital soundtrack
- Mini artbook
- Avatar set
- PlayStation 4 theme
Next is the Collector's Edition, which is a premium package but still not the most expensive one on offer. It contains all the perks from the Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as various items within a gift box designed to look like the Knowledge Keeper's Shrine from God of War (2018). Inside that box you'll also find a code for the game, a steelbook case, two Vanir carvings, a dice set, and a 16-inch replica of Thor's hammer, Mjölnir.
The final special edition of God of War Ragnarok is the Jötnar Edition, which is even more stacked. It contains all the items from the Collector's Edition, and then some. You'll also get a 7" vinyl of two songs from the soundtrack, a set of three pins themed after Kratos, Atreus, and Faye, a Draupnir Ring, dice set, and cloth map. Alongside the replica hammer and other Collector's Edition items, and it's a behemoth of a package.
How Much is God of War Ragnarok?
Despite knowing all about the various versions of God of War Ragnarok, one thing we don't know so far is the price. Expect to learn more about it once pre orders go live on July 15, 2022. One thing we can say for now is that the base game alone will be somewhere in the region of £70/$70. That's the cost of another upcoming PlayStation exclusive, The Last of Us Part I, so we expect God of War Ragnarok to be similar.
Of course, once we have concrete details on each edition's price, we'll update this guide. Until then, feel free to check out our overall God of War Ragnarok hub for the latest details on the upcoming game.
