Animal Well is jam-packed with puzzles and mysteries to solve, and the Animal Well eggs take the cake. With a whopping 64 to collect, it will take you some time and effort to complete. Thankfully though, once you know the Animal Well egg locations, it's fairly smooth sailing.
If you're a lover of captivating puzzles, then Animal Well certainly has you covered. From various candles and matches to eggs and rabbits, you'll have your work cut out for you. All of these are hard to find and are hidden in the confusing mazes. Interestingly though, eggs serve a purpose beyond mere collection.

All Animal Well Egg Locations
In Animal Well, you can hunt down a total of 64 eggs. To keep things clear, this guide sorts the eggs by the area you're exploring. I recommend you take each zone one at a time so it's easier to keep track of your progress. After all, there are rewards for collecting varying amounts of eggs and you're incentivized to collect each and every egg.
Collecting the eggs in Animal Well will reward you with the following:
- 8 eggs - The Animal Flute, which is used for fast travel and completing puzzles
- 16 eggs - The Pencil, which lets you draw on the map
- 32 eggs - The Top, which is used in certain puzzles to destroy objects
- 64 eggs - Required for the true ending
Starting and Central Area Eggs
Clover Egg
The Clover Egg can be found just beyond the starting area, behind a hidden passage one room to the left of where you start the game. The chest can be found near some stone pillars at the back of the room.
Sweet Egg
You'll find the Sweet Egg northwest of the egg room, after climbing up a ladder. It's located on a ledge with waterfalls. Use the Disc to access this ledge and then B. wand to jump up to the next floor to reach it.
Iridescent Egg
You'll discover this egg in the room with the snake, beyond the area revealed by placing the S. medal. You can find the S. medal behind the large iguana. After obtaining the Remote in the next room, you can use it to reach this egg located in the top-left corner.
Ice Egg
This egg can also be found after placing the S. medal in the round pedestal at the start of the game. Once you've obtained the Remote, use it to navigate the platforms in a short platforming puzzle and reach the egg by alternating your path.
Virtual Egg
You'll discover the Virtual Egg beneath the room adorned with all the eggs, adjacent to the green penguin statues. Look for an opening in the left-hand wall and jump into it to find the egg.
Holiday Egg
The Holiday Egg can be found east of the egg shrine. To reach it, you'll need the upgraded B. wand. From the penguin statues below, utilize the B. wand to access a concealed alcove on the far side of the wall.
Gorgeous Egg
The Gorgeous Egg is situated east of the first save point, two rooms to the right, within a crank room. You'll find it in a hidden room just above the unlit candle.
Pickled Egg
You can find this egg at the top of the shaft located in the middle of the map's right-hand side. You can get this when dropping into the titular well and hugging the right side until you find the hidden room.
Post Modern Egg
The Modern Egg is situated to the left of the central shaft on the map. Activate a switch on the Dog side of the shaft. Then, head to the lizard side to reach the opened door. Utilize the Spinning Top to clear the rubble obstructing the way to the egg.
Chocolate Egg
To acquire the Chocolate Egg, you'll require the Remote. Within the central shaft of the map, you'll find an antenna. Activate the Remote with this antenna to unlock a pathway leading to the chest containing the egg.
Big Egg
To obtain this egg, you'll also need the Remote. Activate the Remote with another antenna within the shaft. This action will unveil an area where you can manipulate the direction of the dog-themed elevator platforms. At the top of this area, you'll discover the egg.
Neon Egg
The Neon Egg rests below the chest where you acquire the Remote. However, you must return equipped with the B. Ball. Utilize the B. Ball on the blocks beneath it to unveil a pathway leading to a mini-game, where the Neon Egg awaits.
Rain Egg
The Rain Egg lies directly east of the egg shrine. Make sure to employ the Spinning Top to demolish the bricks situated towards the bottom right, to access the egg.
Southeast Area Eggs
Travel Egg
To find the Travel Egg, you'll first need to acquire a key located in the same area. Once you have the key, proceed to the save room with a groundhog that hides within a skull. Unlock the door within that room to reveal the egg.
Jade Egg
To discover the Jade Egg, head beneath the frog head fast travel point. Start from the dark room with green worms and hug the right-hand wall. This will lead you into a room with a wave puzzle connected to several levers.
Rust Egg
To find the Rust Egg, remain in the same dark room as the Jade Egg and the green worms. Hug the left-hand wall and climb up to the room above to locate this egg.
Fire Egg
To locate the Fire Egg, travel west from the room where you navigate around the ostrich by activating switches underground. Throw your Disc and then hop onto it to traverse the chasm and reach the other end where the chest is placed.
Ruby Egg
To uncover the Ruby Egg, return to the dark room where you discovered the Rust Egg. Hug the left wall and descend back into the room. Then, use your Disc or the B. wand to access a hidden platform. This platform can be found in the center of the room near the Ruby Egg.
Dream Egg
To locate the Dream Egg, navigate through the passage leading back up to the main area. You'll encounter a small jumping puzzle featuring a rabbit head. Within the room where you use the rabbit head to switch the platforms, there's a hidden passage leading down to the Dream Egg.
Planet Egg
To find the Planet Egg, head right from the Bunny Mural and then descend one room into an area with alternating platforms. Utilize the Yoyo to shatter the spikes on the ground, then exit the room through the bottom left. Inside this room, you'll discover a chest containing the egg, alongside another chest containing a match.
Promise Egg
To find the Promise Egg, go to the room with the three white birds. Activate the switch in the top right corner, then backtrack to the entrance. Use the newly revealed wall to avoid riding the birds. While navigating, break the spikes at the bottom to reveal a path to the egg.
Desert Egg
You'll Discover the Desert Egg in the room featuring multiple rising platforms that require horizontal and vertical navigation. To reach it, simply run beneath the platforms.
Obsidian Egg
To find the Obsidian Egg, locate the room with vertical platforms moving left. In this room, you'll notice a small lily pad floating on the water. Throw your Disc and hop onto it to bounce between the vertical platforms. This will lead you to an area where you can collect the Obsidian Egg.
Sapphire Egg
To acquire the Sapphire Egg, go back to the bird area once you have the Lantern. In the room with just two birds, use the Lantern to make them disappear. Then, descend below to access the egg.
Bubble Egg
To locate the Bubble Egg, return to the dark room where you encountered the single mouse. Use the B. wand again to reach a hidden alcove situated in the top right corner of the room to get your hands on this egg.
Moon Egg
To locate the Moon Egg, return to the room with two stacks of mice. Once equipped with the Lantern, venture into this room. Search for a hole in the bottom left corner, which you can climb through using the Disc. Inside, use the Lantern to navigate past the ghost mice and reach the egg.
Golden Egg
To locate the Golden Egg, you need the Wheel item. It's hidden behind a wall to the left of the ostrich in the wheel area. Utilize the Wheel on the small platform to manipulate the blocks and access the switches, to obtain the egg.
Southwest Area Eggs
Normal Egg
To discover the Normal Egg, descend to the bottom of the room filled with numerous bubbles that require jumping across. Navigate along the left-hand wall to uncover a concealed room containing the egg.
Mystic Egg
To find the Mystic Egg, ascend to the very top of the room filled with numerous bubbles. Climb them until you reach the vines located in the top left corner. Inside, you'll encounter a switch puzzle guarded by an enemy. Solve the puzzle, and a door in the bubble area will open, leading you to the egg.
Sunset Egg
To locate the Sunset Egg, venture into the dark room south of the first save point. Employ the Yoyo to shatter the spikes lining the bottom, to unveil a concealed path leading to this egg.
Galaxy Egg
You can find the Galaxy Egg in the room with the fish head's fast travel point. Drop down into a concealed area near the ledge by activating the Remote.
Ancient Egg
To find the Ancient Egg, head northwest from the room where you acquire the B. wand. In this room, there's a single whale fan. Use the B. wand to access a hidden area obscured by hanging vines located in the top right corner.
Dazzle Egg
To locate the Dazzle Egg, head east from the first save point in the quadrant and utilize the B. wand to access a concealed alcove situated in the top left corner of the area.
Magic Egg
To find the Magic Egg, head to the northern save room. Near the fish pipe, use the B. wand to activate it. Then, hop into the fish pipe to access a room with a fish pipe puzzle. Solve the puzzle to obtain the egg.
Great Egg
To obtain the Great Egg, equipped with the B. Wand, descend to the bottom of the room filled with rising bubbles. Use the B. Wand to access an area where large birds peck at the water. Hop across the lily pads using the B. Wand until you reach the egg.
Friendship Egg
To locate the Friendship Egg, revisit the room with several fish pipes after upgrading the B. wand. Utilize the upgraded B. wand to reach the rightmost fish head, which leads to a dark room. In this room, a chest is concealed behind vines.
Scarlet Egg
To acquire the Scarlet Egg, you'll need the Wheel item. Head above the room with the seahorse and whale, where you fill three pedestals with water. Look for a hidden hole between the spikes along the wall and hop into it. Then, use the Wheel to reach the chest containing the egg.
Brick Egg
To acquire the Brick Egg, you'll need the Wheel item. In the top right corner of the first room with the whale, break the stalactites. Then, use the wheel to solve the block puzzle and access the egg.
Goodnight Egg
To find the Goodnight Egg, navigate to the room with the emperor penguin and numerous spikes. Break the spikes using the Yoyo in the bottom right corner to reveal a hidden path to the egg.
Northwest Area Eggs
Sour Egg
The Sour Egg can be found to the east of the room containing the mock Disc, featuring a dog. Navigate through a concealed maze located in the bottom left corner of the room. Upon reaching the end of the maze, leap up to access a hidden area where the egg awaits.
Forbidden Egg
The Forbidden Egg is located in the room with swordfish statues in the background. You can access it early by riding on the Disc through the water.
Red Egg
The Red Egg is situated within the room featuring multiple platforms and switches that make them vanish. Utilize the Disc to ascend to the top left corner of the room. Once there, solve the chinchilla puzzle by throwing the Disc to retrieve the egg.
Upside Down Egg
The Upside Down Egg can be found in the bottom right corner of the room containing multiple switches that must be activated to unlock the path forward.
Brown Egg
The Brown Egg is situated northwest of the Bear Head fast travel point, and one room to the west. Use the slink to activate the first block. Then, run and hop onto the rising block. From there, drop your slink to reach the chest containing the egg.
Orange Egg
The Orange Egg can be found near the first save point of the quadrant. To access it, you'll need the Spinning Top. Head to the left of the save point and utilize the Spinning Top to reach the egg.
Reference Egg
The Reference Egg is located west of the room containing the Brown Egg. Utilize your slink to activate the whale fans, allowing you to reach the chest where the egg is hidden.
Depraved Egg
The Depraved Egg is positioned above the room where you utilize the Disc to continuously flip two switches, allowing you to ascend the platforms. To access it, once again throw the Disc between the next set of switches and navigate through the maze that follows.
Egg As A Service
To acquire the Egg As A Service, locate the room housing the giant bat. Knock down the stalactite positioned in the top left corner of the room. Then, equipped with the B. wand, enter the opening created and hug the left-hand wall to discover a passage leading to this egg.
Raw Egg
You'll discover the Raw Egg in the initial series of rooms to the west of the shrine. Seek out a hidden passage tucked away in the top left corner of the area. Inside, you'll encounter a slink puzzle that you need to solve to retrieve the egg.
Shadow Egg
To obtain the Shadow Egg, you'll need the Lantern. Journey to the far northeast of the quadrant where you'll find a room with a single rabbit head. Utilize the Lantern to navigate through the shadows along the floor, then climb up the ladder to reach the egg.
Crystal Egg
To obtain the Crystal Egg, go to the room north of the bear fast travel point and utilize the Spinning Top to unveil a block. Next, use the B. Ball to dispel the blocks obstructing the way. Ride the block upward to access a puzzle room where the egg awaits.
Vanity Egg
To locate the Vanity Egg, proceed past the Kangaroo statue where you obtained the B. ball item. Near the entrance of this area, use the B. ball to uncover a secret room hidden within the left-hand wall. Inside this room, you'll find the egg.
Plant Egg
To acquire the Plant Egg, head to the same room where you found the Vanity Egg. Utilize the B. Ball to unveil a ladder located at the bottom left corner of the room. Descend the ladder to enter a new area where you'll need to utilize the Disc and slink to reach the egg.
Evil Egg
You'll find the Evil Egg at the large body of water to the west of the alternating platforms, which you ascend by tossing the Disc between the switches. Play the Animal Flute to access the egg.
Northeast Area Eggs
Chaos Egg
To locate the Chaos Egg, venture to the bottom right corner of the room where you drop the slink into three switches. There, you'll discover a hidden room where pink monkeys are throwing stones. Inside this hidden room, you'll find the egg.
Swan Egg
The Swan Egg is positioned two rooms east of the save point, situated above the V. flame room. Employ the Animal Flute to wake the chinchilla. Beyond it awaits a puzzle where you'll need to use either a firecracker or the flute to get another chinchilla to reach the egg.
Future Egg
To find the Future Egg, head east of the room with the chinchillas and hedgehogs. To open the path, activate the switch located in the room directly to the north.
Transcendent Egg
To discover the Transcendent Egg, proceed to the room east of where you encounter the iguana. From above, hug the left wall to uncover this egg hidden within a concealed alcove.
Value Egg
The Value Egg is located above the chamber with the hedgehog inside a large square puzzle. Use the Disc in the top left corner to access the upper area. Discover a hidden passage leading to another puzzle room, and solve the puzzle to retrieve the egg.
Universal Basic Egg
To find the Universal Basic Egg, start from the Capybara save room and travel one room down, then one room to the left. Utilize the Gerbil and your Slinky to weigh down both switches and access the area where the chest was located. Proceed to the left and complete the next room to obtain this Egg.
Zen Egg
To reach the Zen Egg, you'll need the B. wand. Begin by heading southwest from the quadrant's save point. Use the slink and the chinchilla to activate both switches. Then, employ the B. wand to jump up to a concealed area at the top of the room. The egg can be found to the right in this secret area.
Laissez-faire Egg
To find the Laissez-faire Egg, head southwest from the save point in the dark room with a candle. Utilize the B. wand to ascend to the upper ledge. Then, enter the next room from the top left corner to find the Egg.
Razzle Egg
To get the Razzle Egg, defeat the Manticore and get the B. wand upgrade. Then, go back to the entrance of the quadrant where one of the giant iguanas was. Use the B. wand upgrade to reach the ledge where it is placed.
Truth Egg
The Truth Egg can be found above the central room with the four statues where the flames are placed. Head northwest of that area, near a hummingbird. Throw your Disc at your right-hand wall and hop onto it. From there, jump onto a small platform and climb the ladder to reach the egg.
