As with many Ubisoft games, Star Wars Outlaws has some abilities that are more useful than others when it comes to progressing smoothly in the main story early on. Star Wars Outlaws gives us a significant edge, as Kay Vess, the story's protagonist, is neither a Jedi nor a lesser being!
In the open world, players might easily overlook skills and clues hidden in tasks requiring them to meet an expert who could be on a different planet than Kay's.
These experts will give you quests, which, upon completion, provide you with skills. However, you must advance the story to a certain point to access some.
Here's a list of early skills that would help you strengthen your game strategy.
Fast talk
Expert: The Bartender
The first expert doesn't require much explanation, as you'll meet him at the start of the game. Bram, the Bartender, has some critical skills to teach, such as Cantina Brawling, Lockpicking, Fast Talk, and Armored Undershirt.
If you get caught while sneaking past in the game, the fast talk ability allows you to stun a target or attack them with Kay's pet Nix.
Armored Undershirt
The armored undershirt ability increases Kay's health, which will pay off once you progress further in the game, especially during combat.
Speed Boost
Expert: The Mechanic
The second expert we'd recommend is Selo, the Mechanic from Toshara. To unlock Selo, you must progress the story to a point when you meet Danka in Jaunta's Hope, where she gives Kay two different intel leads for two experts.
From there, head to the bartender in the Cantina in Jaunta's Hope; you will receive a part of the intel chain that will take you to the Mechanic.
Speed Boost is a Speeder bike boost feature that increases Kay's bike speed, making drifting in wind tunnels easier and more enjoyable. At the same time, Smokebomb and Scoundrel's Pouch are vital combat skills since they allow Kay to toss smoke bombs and get more slots for Grenades and Bacta Vials.
Slicing kit
Expert: The Slicer
The slicer can be unlocked simultaneously with the Mechanic, as she is from Toshara. To unlock Aila, collect some information in Cantina and head to Makal's Gambling Parlor in Mirogana, as per the intel.
While in the parlor, you will hear the name "Aila" once you eavesdrop on a conversation between two strangers. Upon hearing you will unlock Aila's contact, head to the Crimson Dawn Base to unlock the Slicer quest.
Once you accomplish her task, you will unlock the Slicing kit. This kit is essential for hacking complex terminals, and it's upgradeable, which makes hacking easier.
Can I Try That
Expert: The Mercenary
To unlock the Mercenary, you must get to Kijimi after completing the Toshara part of the story.
Once you are in Kijimi City, you can find Rooster in the Cantina. After you complete her task, you will unlock the skill "Can I try that." This allows you to pick up any gun, whether a handgun or heavy machine gun and use it until it runs out of ammo.
This skill is handy as many heavy machine guns come equipped with built-in shields and can even cause heavy damage to the target.
Adrenaline Rush Mastery
Expert: The Gunslinger
Sheriff Quint is the best gunslinger in Tatooine; he can teach Kay Adrenaline Rush mastery skills and more, with the help of which Kay can take out multiple enemies by tagging them, similar to Read Dead Redemption 2's dead eye ability.
You'll need to complete the Tatooine main storyline before you head to Mos Eisley cantina in Tatooine to meet the sheriff. Also, doing a few side quest jobs for the Hutts is advised, as it helps you build a reputation before the final round, where you will have to protect the town from Hutt bounty hunters.
These are the essential early skills for a firm hand on the main questline, stay tuned to Gfinity for more!
