Hidden across the Pale Heart are various gold chests that you can find and open only once. So, here’s where to find all of the region chest locations in the Pale Heart of the Traveler in Destiny 2 The Final Shape.
While opening the Pale Heart region chests doesn't seem all that exciting at first, it's actually a hidden requirement to unlock the Exotic Khvostov, one of the many The Final Shape Exotics. So, whether you’ve completed the Destiny 2 The Final Shape missions or not, hunting these shiny gold chests is a great side activity to familiarize yourself with the alien landscape inside the Traveler.
All Destiny 2 Pale Heart Region Chest Locations
There are nine Pale Heart region chests to find in Destiny 2 The Final Shape, scattered across the zone’s main locations of The Landing, The Blooming, and The Impasse.
These gold region chests can only be opened once, granting you static rewards like Pale Heart reputation and, importantly, a Lost Encryption Bit which is required to unlock the Khvostov.
The Landing Region Chests
There are three Pale Heart region chests in The Landing, predominantly hidden to the east.
The first region chest in The Landing is located close to where you spawn. Head to your right and up the stairs to find a building on the side of the cliff, near a waterfall. Climb up the cliff face to enter the building. The gold region chest is at the back of the room.
The second region chest in The Landing is hidden inside a cave in the middle of the area. Reach the cave and instead of walking right through, jump down into the hole to find the region chest.
The third and final region chest in The Landing is perhaps the trickiest to find. Hidden behind the waterfall under the bridge to the east of The Landing, to collect this region chest you have to climb down the side of the cliff face and jump through the waterfall.
The Blooming Region Chests
There are three Pale Heart region chests in The Blooming zone, all located to the north of the area.
The first region chest in The Blooming is surprisingly tricky to find. Hidden at the very top of a large tree to the west of where you spawn, you will have to jump up and along the branches to find it.
The second region chest in The Blooming is very close to the first, tucked behind a cliff face just beyond the creepy red hand statue to the west.
The third region chest in The Blooming is located on a high ledge in a cave area to the east of the spawn point. Head through the cave next to spawn until you emerge on the other side in an open-top area with trees. The region chest is to your left as you walk in.
The Impasse Region Chests
There are also three Pale Heart region chests in The Impasse, two of which are located to the north, next to the spawn point.
The first region chest in The Impasse is hidden atop the large white pyramid to the northeast. Climb up the sides of the pyramid to reach the top.
The second gold region chest in The Impasse is tucked away in a cave just below the ledge where you spawn into the zone. Jump to the other side of the gap and then leap down into the cave to find the gold chest at the back.
The final region chest to be found in The Impasse is all the way to the south of the area, near the entrance to the Lost Sector. Rather than jumping up the rocks on the left side of the rocky mound, find the small opening in the rocks to the right side. Jump inside to find the region chest.
