The Rainbow Drop in Dragon Quest 3 Remake is a special item that lets you enter Zoma's Citadel, the last dungeon in the game.

It is famous for its power to form a magical bridge linking the mainland to the otherwise inaccessible citadel.

This article explains how to craft the Rainbow Drop and unlock access to the final dungeon.

To make the Rainbow Drop, gather three key items: the Sunstone, the Staff of Rain, and the Sacred Amulet.

Here’s where you can find each one:

1. Sunstone

The Sunstone is the easiest item to find, so it should be your first priority.

You can start your search at Tantegel Castle, where Robbin' 'Ood is locked up near the church.

Although Robbin' 'Ood has a dubious history, he's chosen to help adventurers by sharing key information.

He mentions that the Sunstone is hidden in a lone chest on the castle's second floor.

Head to the second floor of Tantegel Castle to find the chest. It's hidden in a less obvious spot, but you can find it with some searching.

With the Sunstone in hand, you're one step closer to the Rainbow Drop.

2. Staff of Rain

Next on your list is the Staff of Rain in the Shrine of the Spirit.

You can reach this location by heading south of Cantlin. The shrine is tucked away behind a toxic marsh and mountains.

Make sure to cast the Safe Passage spell before crossing the marsh to protect yourself from the hazardous terrain.

Inside the shrine, make your way to the upper level. A Faerie will show up and let you know she’s a servant of Rubiss, the one watching over your quest.

She explains how she is connected to your quest and thanks you for your resolve to rescue Rubiss and confront Zoma.

As a token of thanks, she hands you the Staff of Rain. Now, you have two out of the three items needed to make the Rainbow Drop.

3. Sacred Amulet

The Sacred Amulet is the hardest item to obtain, requiring a visit to the Tower of Rubiss.

This multi-story tower is filled with tricky pathways, secret routes, and an epic boss battle at the highest point.

Visit the town of Kol, located northeast of Alefgard, before starting this long journey.

The Faerie Flute can be found in Kol, near the hot springs. It is required to break the curse on Rubiss, who has been turned to stone.

After obtaining the Faerie Flute, go to the Tower of Rubiss and climb to the top.

Along the way, there will be plenty of enemies and puzzles, so ensure your party is ready for what's ahead.

Once you defeat the boss protecting Rubiss, play the Faerie Flute to lift her curse.

Now that Rubiss is free, she gifts you the Sacred Amulet and tells you what's next. This marks the final piece of the puzzle.

How to Craft & Use the Rainbow Drop

Having the Sunstone, Staff of Rain, and Sacred Amulet means you're all set to craft the Rainbow Drop.

Make your way to the Sanctum, which is found on an isolated island in the southeast of Alefgard. Once there, enter the shrine and speak with the priest.

He will combine the three items to create the Rainbow Drop. Interestingly, crafting the Rainbow Drop does not consume the Sacred Amulet, meaning you can still use it as an accessory.

To use the Rainbow Drop, travel to the peninsula northwest of Rimuldar.

When you get to the spot, use the Rainbow Drop to make a bridge to Zoma’s Citadel.

The bridge is here to stay, allowing continuous entry to the final dungeon.

Now that this step is finished, the way to face Zoma is clear. Make sure your party is fully equipped with the best gear before heading into Zoma’s Citadel.

Key items such as the Sword of Kings, Hero’s Shield, Auroral Helmet, and Auroral Armor will significantly enhance your chances of survival.

Stock up on healing resources to handle the tough battles coming your way.

That’s everything you need to know about gathering the key items for crafting the Rainbow Drop and building the bridge. What’s your go-to gear loadout before facing Zoma in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D? Comment down below!
