The Echo Flute in Dragon Quest 3 Remake assists players by revealing the location of the six orbs required for game progression.
When used, the flute emits a sound that echoes if an orb is nearby. This article provides a guide on where to find the Echo Flute and how it works.
How To Get The Echo Flute
Echo Flute is not mandatory to finish the game, but it’s helpful if you're unsure about orb locations.
To obtain the Echo Flute, you need to complete an optional dungeon called Fifer’s Spire. Set off eastward from the village of Mur to start your journey.
Continue across the ocean until you hit another coastline, then adjust your course southeast.
Fifer’s Spire will soon catch your eye, a towering landmark that points the way.
Dock at the nearest port and get ready for the trek ahead. Once inside the spire, head north until you reach a room with four staircases.
This part can be tricky because picking the wrong staircase might send you off course.
In the remake, the right staircase to choose is the one in the lower-right corner of the room.
Unlike earlier versions of the game, where players might have memorized different routes, this remake changes the layout slightly.
As you ascend through the spire, you’ll notice the tower’s deteriorated state. Getting to the next set of stairs could mean taking longer, winding routes.
You need to find the northeastern staircase leading to the top floor. As you ascend the spire, you'll have to balance on some tightropes.
In this section, reduce your speed. Running increases the risk of falling, which can set you back and force you to retrace your steps.
Walk steadily and focus on maintaining balance as you cross each rope. Keep an eye out for a hanging flag on one of the tightropes.
The flag marks where you should leap down to enter the treasure room below.
After crossing the tightrope at Fifer’s Spire, you’ll find a hidden treasure room below.
This area has four treasure chests, all filled with valuable rewards. These treasures include the Echo Flute, the main item you're after.
Next to the flute, you will find a mini-medal. This can be used to obtain special rewards later in the game.
There is also a Cannibox, a mimic-like chest that a monster wrangler can recruit in your party if you have one.
Make sure to open all the chests to claim everything before leaving the spire. The Echo Flute is a straightforward item to use.
Activate it when you suspect you’re near an orb’s location. The flute gives off an echoing sound when an orb is nearby.
This tool eliminates much guesswork in finding orbs and is especially helpful for players unfamiliar with their locations.
