If you're in need of a gear upgrade but can't stomach the thought of tackling today's Savage content in a large group, you'll want to know how to get and use Aloalo Manuscripts in FFXIV. If you're capable of completing relatively hard content in a smaller group, it could be your ticket (or token) to the best gear you can grab right now.
Serving as a way to bridge the gear gap between talented raiders and those with a little less time on their hands, Aloalo Manuscripts can be swapped for some of the most powerful weapons currently in the game. That's as of patch 6.51, of course. Any clothing will still require some extra effort elsewhere, but it's better than nothing.
For even more FFXIV 6.51 guides, we're working hard to bring you details on how to get the Fall Guys minions, the new Statice's Wings and Giant Leaf Parasol fashion accessories, and the new 6.51 braid hairstyle. Haven't tried the Fall Guys content out yet? Here's how to start the FFXIV Fall Guys event.
How to get Aloalo Manuscripts
You can get Aloalo Manuscripts by completing Another Aloalo Island (Savage). That's the tougher Criterion version of the new Variant dungeon introduced in the same patch.
You can read more about that, including how to unlock it, by checking out or FFXIV 6.51 minions page.
What are Aloalo Manuscripts used for in FFXIV?
As per the 6.51 patch notes "Aloalo Manuscripts... can be exchanged for Flasks of Elevated Ester. This item is required to upgrade weapons purchased with Allagan tomestones of divine comedy from item level 660 to 665."
Are Aloalo Manuscript weapons better than raid weapons?
Though their stats are synced to match the item level of raid weapons, players are considering Aloalo Manuscript-upgraded tome weapons to be better than their raid counterparts.
Their base models look the same, but weapons upgraded via Aloalo Manuscripts have the all-important glow we crave.
