The long-awaited Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launch is just a few weeks away and Square Enix has released a beefy demo to hold fans until its release on February 29.
First (officially) unveiled during FF7's State of Play, the demo leaked a day prior, but this didn't deter from the excitement of a very jam-packed presentation that gave us glances of a ton of iconic locales, minigames, and all the combat-goodness you'd hope for.
With how massive RPGs tend to be, fans are wondering if playing the demo of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will allow them to get a head start when the full game launches by allowing them to carry their progress over.
Does progress carry over in the FF7 Rebirth demo?
Unlike Final Fantasy 7 Remake's demo, the progress in Final Fantasy 7 Rebith's demo will indeed carry over.
The FF7 Rebirth demo is composed of two portions - the Nibelheim flashback sequence featuring a playable Sephiroth alongside a young, upbeat Cloud Strife, and an open-world section featuring Junon as locale, which will be added on February 21 once players finish the Nibelheim episode.
If you manage to complete the flashback section of the demo, which is the start of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you'll have the option to skip it when you launch the main game. This is similar to how Final Fantasy 16 did it.
Of course, you'll need to have a save available in order to be able to skip the initial portion of the story. On top of that, you'll actually get some rewards for having a demo save in your PS5.
- Kupo charm: An accessory that increases the number of resource items extracted at a set rate
- Survival set: A selection of items to aid on your adventure, such as potions and ethers
And that's all you need to know about the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo progress. For more on the game, check out everything you need to know about ahead of release on February 29.
