Granblue Fantasy Relink advanced combat tips
Perfect dodge tip
The perfect dodge is a useful mechanic that lets you avoid damage, gain invincibility and keep the pressure on your opponents. A perfect dodge triggers once you dodge right before an attack connects.
While it might seem unintuitive, you need to dodge in the direction of the attack to trigger a perfect dodge. You can still trigger a perfect dodge if you dodge away from the attack, but a dodge towards the attack gives you a higher likelihood of success.
Guarding is OP
While you might want to become a reaction god who is always on the move, jumping through attacks, don't forget to guard. If you're ever confused about what an enemy is about to do or just want to stick to them, use your guard.
Unless the enemy completely outlevels you, you will be able to guard the attack and take 0 damage without having to move. Guarding is overpowered, and taking advantage of this is important.
Use the block dodge
Do you know what's even better than guarding and dodging? Doing both of them together.
The block dodge is a useful trick that lets you make up for a poorly timed dodge. Hold the guard button and then press the dodge button to perform a block dodge. This allows you to time perfect dodges, but even if you mess up, your guard will block the incoming damage.
Try to use Elemental Advantage for SBA
Every boss and enemy has an elemental weakness. For the uninitiated, your Skybound Art Chain Burst will have the element of the character that started the chain.
Your team should always try to start the chain with the character who has an elemental advantage over the enemy. A method to ensure this in single-player is to give SBA charging Sigils, such as Uplift, to the character whose SBA you want to go off first.
Save SBA for Link Time Loops
The damage potential during Link Time is arguably higher than the Full Burst. You can deal as much, if not more damage, during Link Time than with a Full Burst.
A handy trick involves holding your SBAs before triggering the first Link Time as a series of SBAs resulting in a Full Burst can almost fully recharge your Link Rate in no time, allowing you to loop the Link Time.
Invest in potion hoarder
The Potion Hoarder Sigil is extremely underrated. The Potion Hoarder Sigil increases your healing item and Blue Potion capacity. It gives you access to quick and reliable healing that allows you to compensate for mistakes and survive powerful boss attacks without quickly getting downed. If you find yourself taking damage too often, invest in the Potion Hoarder Sigil to stay healthy.
Keep Damage Cap in mind
Damage Cap is one of the most important stats for end-game combat as it limits the amount of damage you can deal. There are different methods to increase your Damage Cap and find workarounds that ignore it.
