The Grand Theft Auto 6 release date remains the talk of the town as gamers patiently wait for Rockstar Games to share more on the hotly-anticipated release.
Following the launch of the official trailer and over a decade since the launch of the last Grand Theft Auto title, it's not surprising to see huge levels of hype surrounding Rockstar Games' next instalment into the open-world crime franchise.
In this guide, find everything there is to know about Grand Theft Auto 6 including the release date, information on the main characters, and all of the trailers.
GTA 6 Release Date Window
The GTA 6 release date is currently "Fall 2025" according to Take-Two, Rockstar's parent company in its final earnings call for fiscal year 2024, much to the delight of fans looking forward to returning to Vice City.
GTA 6 will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in this window, while the GTA 6 PC release will be later, possibly a year later following the trend of Rockstar's recent PC ports.
In an interview with Variety, CEO Strauss Zelnick explained "I think we’re going to leave it there for now," suggesting we'll have to wait a little longer for the exact release date of GTA 6.
Nevertheless, this narrows down the release window provided during an investor call last year, in which Lainie Goldstein revealed: "We are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2024 that will culminate in us delivering new record levels of operating performance for next year and beyond."
In February 2024, Bloomberg reported GTA 6 is in the final stages of development, with workers returning to the office for five days a week as Rockstar Games prepares to iron out any issues ahead of launch.
In March 2024, a Kotaku report claimed GTA 6 could be pushed back to 2026. Since it was published, 2026 is no longer a target as Rockstar Games looks to strive for perfection.
