How To Catch the Gold Butterfly in Astro Bot
Apes on the Loose serves as the grand finale of Gorilla Nebula and becomes accessible after defeating the Mighty Chewy boss. This level introduces players to Hero gameplay for the first time. In this stage, you harness Spike’s talents from Ape Escape, allowing you to use a net to catch the apes. The net can also catch butterflies and insects nearby, allowing you to collect some handy coins.
To catch the gold butterfly, you must first find the spot where it is located. Unfortunately, the Golden Butterfly is not simply gliding around one place; it is cleverly hidden. This means you won't see it unless you happen to frighten it out of its spot by chance.
Once you have the net, collect the first Ape Bot and climb the wall.
If the large statue comes into view while you are exploring, head straight toward it. Walk around to the right until you reach the back, where you see a ladder. A glass bridge awaits at the end, where a monkey is waiting, but hold off on climbing it for now. After defeating the enemy, look for the small bushes flanking the structure. Strike the one on the right, and a large Golden Butterfly will emerge.
As the Butterfly takes off, it may be a bit tricky to keep up. This is because it zips away swiftly if it knows you are chasing it. Watch its flight pattern closely at this point, as it tends to follow a route around the statue. If you struggle to keep up with it, glide along the rails surrounding the statue in the center.
This will help you get closer to the Butterfly as it starts to loop around the statue. When you get close enough, leap over and trap it with your net by pressing R2. Doing so will unlock the Net Profit Trophy, helping you progress toward the Platinum Trophy.
