Fortunately, there are several ways to increase your Workforce in Frostpunk 2. As your city expands, you will need to manage resources. This involves providing enough food and shelter to keep your Workforce healthy and productive. Here is how to increase your Workforce:

Grow Population

One of the most straightforward methods of increasing your Workforce is growing your city's population. Your city’s population will grow over time if you keep the conditions favorable by providing your people with food, shelter, and warmth.

To grow your population faster, you can introduce specific laws and policies that promote Population Growth. For example, enacting the Family Apprenticeship law or welcoming new settlers from the Frostlands can help boost your Workforce.

It is also worth mentioning that with overpopulation, you can also face some setbacks like lack of resources. To deal with it, make sure your infrastructure is ready to accommodate more people.

Implement Laws and Policies

Frostpunk 2 offers a range of laws that directly affect your Workforce. Some laws make more of your population eligible for work, while others allow reduced workers to do a given job.

For example, passing the Family Apprenticeship law (found in the Council Society) lets children become apprentices, thus increasing your workforce. Likewise, the Mass-Produced Goods law causes increases in resource efficiency and the number of active workers.

Adjust Workforce Allocation

Sometimes, you might need extra workers for specific projects, but your current Workforce could already be fully occupied. To solve this, you'll need to free up some workers. An easy way to do this is by adjusting the output of certain Districts. You can lower a District's output using the Workforce Slider in its info panel.

Lowering the output decreases the workers in that District, freeing them for other tasks. For example, if you urgently need to build a Food District but lack workers, you can reduce output in other Districts and reassign them to the new project.

Increase Production Efficiency

Although increasing your workforce is probably the best way to improve your productivity, one other way is to increase the efficiency of your existing workers. Using techniques such as Rail Hubs or implementing laws such as Heat Overclocking can help improve the efficiency of your Workforce. This allows you to maintain high levels of productivity with fewer people.

Manage Diseases

Lastly, keeping your Workforce healthy is essential. Sickness can reduce your available workers' availability since they can’t work until they recover. Ensure your Workforce stays in good health by offering enough healthcare facilities and controlling disease spread. You can also use laws to improve living conditions and maintain their well-being.
