Without an efficient way to access these materials, the only option is to stop progress and make supply runs back to the base, which can be time-consuming and disrupt workflow. The Dimensional Depot is a storage unit that uses alien technology unlocked by researching Mercer Spheres and other alien materials in the Molecular Analysis Machine (MAM).
To unlock the Dimensional Depot in Satisfactory, you must advance through the MAM by researching alien materials. Specifically, gather Mercer Spheres and SAM Ore to unlock the Alien Technology Research tree.
You also have to finish the research for the Dimensional Depot Uploader. The resources required for this research are 1 unit of Mercer Sphere and 11 units of SAM Fluctuators, crafted from SAM Ore. Before you can use SAM Fluctuators, you need to unlock them through specific research in the MAM. You should also find a reliable source of SAM Ore to craft these components.
