The Mod Conversion system in Once Human lets players combine unnecessary mods into one stronger mod. This is especially useful in Once Human, where mods significantly impact the strength and effectiveness of a player's gear, such as weapons or armor.

Once Human is set in a post-apocalyptic world where players must battle against eldritch creatures and other survivors, Each mod provides unique attributes or bonuses that directly influence how effectively you can handle enemies and challenges.

In this article, we’ll explain how to use the Mod Conversion feature to combine mods.

How To Use The Mod Conversion Feature in Once Human

In Once Human, the Mod Conversion feature enables you to combine six legendary mods into a single mod with enhanced attributes and a chosen suffix. The suffix determines the primary attribute, such as Crit Damage or Weakspot Damage, depending on the mods used.

You'll need least four mods with the same suffix. The quality of the attributes in the final mod is based on the quality of the original mods. The conversion costs 20,000 Energy Links, and the mods used are consumed during the process.

This feature is important for customizing mods to fit your build. To use it, open the Mods menu, select Mod Conversion, choose six legendary mods, and click "Exchange" to finalize. Filtering mods by suffixes and attributes helps speed up the process, and you can improve your mod’s effectiveness by ensuring you use high-quality mods.

The best mod attributes depend on your build and gameplay style. For example, Violent mods offer a boost to Crit Damage, ideal for builds like Shrapnel, Frost Vortex, or Sniper that rely on critical hits. Likewise, Precision mods boost Weakspot Damage, which is ideal for sniper builds aimed at enemy weak points.

Talent mods suit elemental builds well, raising Elemental Damage for attacks like Jaws or Power Surge. Beyond suffix-based mods, other desirable attributes include Weapon Damage, Damage Against Great Ones (bosses), Damage Against Elite enemies, or faster Reload Speed. These attributes can provide all-around gains that complement any build.

To obtain the best mods with these attributes, you should farm Monolith Bosses and Securement Silos, as these locations drop mods suited for various builds. Progression may take time across several seasons, as the game encourages long-term mod optimization.

Keep in mind that mods that have been upgraded can’t be used for conversion. When a mod is upgraded, it becomes bound to its current state, preventing it from being further modified or repurposed through the conversion system.

The Mod Conversion feature relies on raw, unaltered legendary mods to maintain balance in creating new mods with desired suffixes and attributes. This ensures that the conversion process remains predictable and fair, as players must strategically select and sacrifice their base mods rather than using modified or enhanced ones that could skew results.
