The next Life is Strange game is almost here with Deck Nine taking the helm once again for this sequel to the supernatural series. Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, like all games before it, oozes with mystery. With its cast of new and familiar characters, we can’t help but get excited for this brand new story.

Max Caulfield Returns as Protagonist
Max Caulfield returns, the prime heroine from the original Life is Strange. The time-traveling nerd takes center stage as she gets caught up in another case of murder mystery.
After the events of the first game, Max has moved on from her life in Arcadia Bay. Focusing on her studies, she’s now a photographer-in-residence at Caledon University.
Since this is a Life is Strange game, there’s no shortage of the supernatural. Her time-bending powers have changed since the last time she used it. Instead of just controlling time, she can access parallel timelines. This newfound ability opens the floodgates for more questions in Max’s life.
This power will eventually result in more complex choices that will make the fandom happy.
It's Another Murder Mystery
Life Is Strange wouldn’t be Life Is Strange without a good ol’ murder mystery. The original had us choose Chloe Price and Arcadia Bay’s fate. In Double Exposure, a new threat looms as her close friend Safi was found dead.
Safi is one of Max’s new set of friends after moving to Vermont. She’s a talented poet and a people-person.
Unfortunately, her demise will kickstart the events of the game. Max finds her fatally shot in the chest, sitting on a bench from across her place. With no killer and motive in sight, this sparks more questions to her untimely death.
Spellbinding Soundtrack
The series was always known for its selection of spellbinding indie soundtracks. The original had music from Daughter and Syd Matters, whereas Life is Strange: True Colors had Angus & Julia Stone composing the game’s score.
It’s no secret Double Exposure will capitalize on their music. This will introduce players to its diverse selection of talented artists from all over the world. New songs will be included in the game, including NewDad’s ‘Under My Skin,’ and Tessa Rose Jackson’s ‘Illusion.’
We should be expecting more music from other artists once the game arrives.
We're Back To Episodic Content
Deck Nine embraces the Episodic format of the previous titles.
The first two major Life is Strange games have 5 episodes each. Deck Nine did not confirm how many episodes Double Exposure will have, but it’s safe to assume it will have 5. Their predecessor, True Colors, also had five episodes with an extra DLC story.
The first two episodes will be available on launch day, encouraging discussions and theorycrafting on their respective communities. The next episodes should follow the original’s format, which will be released a few weeks apart.
Where is Chloe?
Chloe Price’s absence in Double Exposure is one of the bigger mysteries in this game. Where is she? And what part of the original’s ending is considered canon?
The devs at Deck Nine confirmed that Double Exposure will respect both endings, making either Bay or Bae as part of Max’s new identity.
The latest trailers and gameplay footage have hidden Chloe’s presence from us. Only the devs know where she is, and fans are getting excited to see their blue-haired princess coming back as well.
The mysteries will all be answered once Life Is Strange: Double Exposure launches this October 31st for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC. Pre-orders are also available.
