If you're craving fast-paced, no-holds-barred combat with a dash of strategy, then Doom Match in Marvel Rivals is the perfect game mode for you.

Unlike other more methodical, team-based modes, Doom Match throws players into a chaotic free-for-all where only one thing matters: securing the most eliminations.

In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know to master the mode.

How Does Doom Match Work? Explained

Unlike the other modes in Marvel Rivals, Doom Match has no team objectives—it's a free-for-all, just you against everyone else.

Take out enemies and keep yourself from getting knocked out.

You’ll earn points for each final blow you land on an opponent, but assists won’t count towards your score.

This means you need to make sure you land the last hit in every encounter.

The match scoring works like this: if two players have equal kills, the one with fewer deaths takes the higher rank.

The Sanctum Sanctorum map is the epicenter of all the action.

The layout has tight corridors and wide open areas, so players can choose whatever approach to combat feels right.

What makes this map even more exciting are the teleportation portals scattered around. Portals can be either orange or purple.

The orange portals are indoors and don’t count for mission progress, so you can just skip them when working on missions.

The purple portals you find outside are the ones you'll need for some missions, like the "Doctor’s Out of His Mind!" one.

Interacting with any purple portal will automatically count towards your mission progress.

You can choose any character in Doom Match, but some of their abilities are disabled here.

For example, Doctor Strange's Pentagram of Farallah and Invisible Woman's Invisible Boundary aren't available, so you'll have to decide if those limitations affect which hero you pick.

The higher you climb in Doom Match, the more you need to focus on survival as much as offense.

If you're close to the top six, it's usually better to play it safe. Stick around the fights, but don’t jump into anything too risky.

Pick off the weak ones when you get the chance. Take the fast route with the teleportation points and outpace your rivals.

You can also get an edge by picking up health packs scattered around the map during those long fights.

If you’re looking to land those final blows, an ambush might do the trick.

Doom Match is a great way to test out different characters and try new playstyles, all without the usual team limits.
