Gold Beetles are scattered across various regions of the game, with 50 beetles to find, though you only need 46 for the final reward.

They are often located in hidden or hard-to-reach areas, such as crawl spaces and dungeons, and near key landmarks in the game world.

There is no specific order required to collect the Gold Beetles in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

However, some beetles are missable due to story events or time-sensitive quests, so collecting those as you encounter them is recommended.

Here’s an exhaustive list of all 50 locations for gold beetles:

Grand Trad Region

  • Gold Beetle #1: Near a tree when camping with Strohl and Grius at Northern Border Fort. This beetle is only available during the camp event, so collect it before leaving.
  • Gold Beetle #2: Behind a staircase next to the armor shop in Sunshade Row. Head down the alley near the shop, and you will find the beetle tucked away behind the stairs.
  • Gold Beetle #3: Enter the Comfort Concoctions shop and look to your right upon entering. The beetle is hidden inside a glowing spice sack near the entrance.
  • Gold Beetle #4: In the Grand Trad Recruitment Centre, search the corridor on the left side of the main entrance. The beetle is hidden here, so look closely in this area.
  • Gold Beetle #5: At the Regalith Grand Cathedral marketplace, look for a merchant's stall near the Herb-Seller. The beetle is sitting at one of the stalls, easy to miss if you don't check carefully.
  • Gold Beetle #6: After visiting Virga Island during the story, return to Comfort Concoctions in Grand Trad. The shopkeeper will have moved some pots, revealing a beetle hidden behind the counter.

Tradia Desert Region

  • Gold Beetle #7: In the northeastern section of the Traveler’s Graveyard, near a large rock formation, you’ll find the beetle hidden inside a bush.
  • Gold Beetle #8: In the Abandoned Tomb, head to the southwestern area. The beetle is located near a dead-end after descending a ladder.
  • Gold Beetle #9: Take the first left fork as you enter the Disgraced Ruins. Follow the path, and you’ll find the beetle hidden at the end of this route. The area is rocky, so keep an eye on your surroundings to spot it.
  • Gold Beetle #10: In Scoundrel’s Hold, descend to the ground level and find a ladder leading down to a semi-hidden area on B1F. The beetle will be in a small strip to the south of this floor, hidden out of sight.
  • Gold Beetle #11: On the second basement floor of Scoundrel’s Hold, access the area using a ladder from B3. The beetle is hidden in the southern part of the dungeon.

Martira Region

  • Gold Beetle #12: Check the fireplace inside the Visca Alba Tavern in Martira. The beetle is tucked away inside the fireplace, so interact with it to collect it.
  • Gold Beetle #13: Head to the guest room in the Visca Alba Tavern and interact with a water pitcher on the desk. You’ll need to try a few times, as the beetle is not always available on the first attempt.
  • Gold Beetle #14: In Martira’s MesmerEyes Apothecary, find the beetle hidden in a glowing spice sack near the small staircase.
  • Gold Beetle #15: Near a stack of hay bales close to a goat in the middle section of Cattleracket Road, the beetle is tucked away behind the bales.

Belega Corridor

  • Gold Beetle #16: On the second basement floor of Belega Corridor, crawl through a small passageway leading to a hidden room. The beetle is located in the southern part of the room.

Port Brilehaven Region

  • Gold Beetle #17: You'll find the beetle near wooden crates along the docks in the northwest area of Seabreeze Street. Search the area around the docks for the right stack of crates.
  • Gold Beetle #18: Another beetle is hidden in a small alley on Seabreeze Street near the Arrogant Seer. This beetle can be tricky to spot as it’s tucked away in the southern section.
  • Gold Beetle #19: After completing the “Dental Distress” side quest, speak to the Sullen Man to receive this beetle. Be cautious, as this quest is time-sensitive and missable.
  • Gold Beetle #20: In Merchant’s Bazaar, find a stack of crates near the entrance to the Recruitment Centre. The beetle is behind the crates.

  • Gold Beetle #25: On Sandy Coast, climb a ladder that leads to a platform behind a dragon statue. The beetle is found here, next to the statue.
  • Gold Beetle #26: On Sandy Coast, behind a stack of crates near the coastline, you’ll find this beetle. Be sure to check all the crates in the southern part of the area.
  • Gold Beetle #27: After completing the Dragon Temple questline, return to the Village of Pagans and speak to the Clumsy Boy near the Rooster Inn. He will reward you with this beetle.

Tomb of Lament

  • Gold Beetle #28: In the Tomb of Lament, crawl through a small passageway near the boss door to reach a hidden room containing the beetle.
  • Gold Beetle #29: Another beetle is hidden near a cat statue on the first floor of the Tomb of Lament. Use a nearby crawlspace to access the room where the beetle is located.

Forsaken Tower

  • Gold Beetle #30: On the fifth floor of Forsaken Tower, head to the northern part near the railing. The beetle is hidden in this area, but watch out for enemies, as this floor can be dangerous.

Imp’s Den

  • Gold Beetle #31: Find the beetle near a set of ramps in the northwest section of Imp’s Den. This beetle is well-concealed, so look carefully.

Orbwise Path

  • Gold Beetle #36: Inside the Whitepeaks Magic Shop in Altabury Heights, the beetle is hidden in a cauldron, only accessible at night.
  • Gold Beetle #37: Search the upper floor near some barrels in Skyward Tavern. The beetle is hidden in a corner, so look closely.
  • Gold Beetle #38: In Opera House Square, cross the long bridge to find the beetle at the far end of the bridge.

  • Gold Beetle #44: Search the northeastern section near the railings on the second floor of the Tower of Insolence. The beetle is located here, partially hidden by the architecture.
  • Gold Beetle #45: On the sixth floor of Tower of Insolence, look near the northern wall to find another beetle. Be cautious of enemies in the area.

Ancient Eldan Sanctum Region

  • Gold Beetle #46: During a story mission in the Plaza of Light, you’ll find this beetle near a collapsed house. Be sure to collect it before leaving, as the area becomes inaccessible later in the game.

Manor of the Ascendant Region

Land of Ceremony Region

  • Gold Beetle #50: In the Land of Ceremony, head to the third floor, near the corridor southwest of the boss door. After accepting the “Trial of Malnova” side quest, you'll find the beetle hidden in this area.

Once you’ve collected the beetles, you can trade them with the Elderly Entomophile in Port Brilehaven for rewards. Key items include:

  • 1 Beetle: Arcane Dragonblood (restores MP)
  • 12 Beetles: Venomward Charm (nullifies physical ailments)
  • 25 Beetles: Claw Breakers (weapon)
  • 38 Beetles: Flameseal Corselet (armor)
  • 46 Beetles: Dragon’s Fall (legendary sword)

Any additional beetles found beyond 46 can still be traded for more Arcane Dragonbloods in New Game Plus.
