How to get Suspicious Sand in Minecraft
Suspicious Sand is a new variant of sand blocks that you'll be able to find in the desert biome. They'll have a slight visual variant from normal sand blocks, which means they'll be a little difficult to find.
The blocks have more 'cracks' in them, making them look more textured than the other sand blocks. You'll be able to see a few of them in the foreground of the picture above.
There are two main locations where you can find Suspicious Sand:
- Near Desert Temples and Pyramids
- Inside of Desert Wells
Minecraft players will already know how valuable Desert Temples already are. They can contain rare loot, as well as a variety of different building materials if you're in Survival Mode.
The Suspicious Sand blocks can be found in the sand around the Desert Temple. You can also find them in the temple, although you may need to excavate some of the layers very carefully in order to do so.
So far, the Desert Wells in Minecraft have had very little use in the game. However, in the 1.20 update, they will be a more reliable source of Suspicious Sand blocks.
Once you remove the water from the Desert Wells by using a sponge, or breaking the water spawn blocks, then you'll be able to access the Suspicious Sand underneath.
What to do with Suspicious Sand in Minecraft
Once you've found your Suspicious Sand block in Minecraft, it's time to get your brush out. This simple recipe needs only one Feather, one Stick, and one Copper Ingot in a Crafting Table.
Use your brush to very carefully, very delicately brush the sand away from the treasure underneath. If you try and mine the block with anything else, even Silk Touch, then it will be destroyed. It will even break if the block underneath is mined out. There are a few different things that you can get from them if you excavate them properly though!
