Yes, you can disable crossplay in Modern Warfare 3! It's as easy as a few button presses, and can be re-enabled at any time - you just need to know where to look. You should also be aware that you can't toggle the feature while in a lobby or during active gameplay, and that disabling crossplay can lead to longer matchmaking times.
How to disable crossplay in Modern Warfare 3
On PlayStation, you'll start from the main menu, press Options, navigate along to Settings, and scroll down to Account and Network. The first option you'll see is Crossplay, at which point you can toggle it off. Crossplay communication can also be disabled here.
On Xbox, disabling crossplay is slightly more involved. Go to the main console's general settings, open the Online Safety and Family tab, and select Privacy and Online Safety. You'll then want to open Xbox Privacy, scroll down to Communication and Multiplayer, and finally change the 'cross-network play' settings to 'block'.
