With the recently released Interceptor update for No Man's Sky, the developers have introduced a number of new features to the game, such as the Sentinel Interceptor ship and Corrupted Planets.
On Corrupted Planets, you will find Corrupted Sentinels, which, once defeated, can drop Echo Locators - a tool used to find loot-filled abandoned encampments. The planets are also plush with Radiant Shards and Atlantideium.
However, before you get that far, you will need to find these Corrupted Planets, and that is where this guide comes in, as below we show you how.
How to find Corrupted Planets
To find Corrupted Planets, you must first ensure you've downloaded the latest version of No Man's Sky - which includes the aforementioned Interceptor update.
Once you have sorted the admin part, you must ensure you have some fuel for your warp drive and then open your galaxy map. Corrupted Planets will appear in a new type of star system you should look out for. You can find nearby systems that have a "Dissonant" descriptor attached to them. Note that some descriptors will say "Water"; however, you must be certain it reads as a "Dissonant system" to increase your chances of finding a Corrupted Planet.
You can then warp into that system and start scanning the planets within the system. The system with such planets will likely be labelled undiscovered; if so, register it. Another thing you must note is that while you're scanning, you need to watch for a new item on the list of resources and the information that comes with it.
Corrupted Planets will have a "Corrupted Sentinels" label in their description. Once you've discovered and verified that that planet is corrupted, fly directly to it.
Once on the Corrupted Planet, you can battle against the Corrupted Sentinels to find abandoned bases with the new Multi-Tool technology and crashed Sentinel Interceptor ships.
