Palworld is full of all kinds of colourful creatures and, for better or worse, they draw many parallels to the already iconic Pokemon franchise. Due to its Pokemon inspiration, many of us have been wondering if you can evolve Pals in Palworld.
Evolution is an exciting mechanic that strengthens the bond between you and your creatures as you see them grow up and become stronger in front of you visually. But, how has Palworld dealt with evolution and is it even possible to evolve Pals?

Can you evolve Pals in Palworld?
The quick and short answer is no. You cannot evolve your Pals in Palworld, and nobody has found any sort of evolution mechanic in the game. There are no evolution stones or naturally occurring Pal evolutions at high levels. However, if we view evolution as mutations and upgrades in the next generation, the Breeding System in Palworld comes pretty close to evolution.
It lets you breed two types of Pals, and oftentimes, not only will the offspring be a lot stronger, but you might even unlock brand-new subspecies of Pals.
However, finding subspecies and breeding Pals is not the only method at your disposal for strengthening your Pals. The Pal Essence Extractor essentially allows you to upgrade your Pal's quality and rarity. You could consider an enhanced Pal an evolved version of its base form. The Essence Extractor requires a number of the same type of Pals to have their essence extracted and then used to strengthen and refine one of them.
So, while there are methods to enhance and strengthen your Pals or create unique new breeds of subspecies, there is no dedicated evolution mechanic in Palworld. As things stand, the developers have no intention of introducing such a mechanic anytime soon. However, with the massive success of Palworld, perhaps the future roadmap and updates will include evolutions and mega forms for Pals in the future.
