What are Schematics?
Schematics are blueprints for crafting gear. They take up a slot inside your inventory and allow you to craft certain gear without having to spend technology points for it. Schematics also allow you to access various tiers of gear, there's even some gear that can only be unlocked through Schematics.
For example, you can unlock four tiers of the same gear by finding the respective Schematics with a number in front going up to 4 for the Legendary tier. The higher rarity variants for each piece of gear have better stats on it than the previous versions. However, they also come with a higher material cost. Note that you can only craft the Schematic items while you have access to the Schematics inside your inventory.
One other use for Schematics can be to sell them. Schematics sell for quite a pretty penny at the Travelling Merchants. In fact, you can sell basic tier 1 Schematics for a respectable 1,000 Gold Coins. Farming schematics can be a quick way to farm gold coins.
How to get Schematics
As you progress through Palworld, whether you want more Gold Coins or better gear, you will want to collect more schematics. The best way to get Schematics is by opening chests; especially, dungeon chests. You're going to want to head to dungeons in areas around your level or even higher-level areas to get a chance at looting the Schematics in the boss room. As you approach more high-level areas, the chance of finding Schematics inside chests also increases.
The other alternative for obtaining Schematics is to simply purchase them from Travelling Merchants. These merchants won't always have the best Schematics available, but some of them have unique appearances and can be fairly useful in terms of stat buffs.
