How to open Firescourge Shrine
Many of the Blue Stake locations needed to open Firescourge Shrine are almost impossible to reach if your Koraidon or Miraidon can't climb, swim, or glide. But once you've defeated Titans, you'll be able to explore every corner of the Paldea region and find the Blue Stakes.
Stakes are scattered all over the map. Each of these sets falls into a colour category and work as a key to unlock the entrance to one of the four Shrines. If you want to catch every legendary Pokémon for your collection, you'll need to unlock every shine. That means finding 32 stakes in total.

To unlock the entrance to the ruined temples, you must find each stake of the same color and pull them out of the ground. By doing this with eight Blue Stakes, you'll open Firescourge Shrine and find Chi-Yu.
We recommend that you catch this Dark and Fire-type Pokémon. It's one of the best among the Pokémon of the same types, and while they can't be used in competitive play in season one, pros are already singing their praises for when they become legal.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Blue Stake Locations
As we said, to open the Firescourge Shrine, you need to find and pull eight Blue Stakes out of the ground. But it will take you a long time to find them. Therefore, we have created a list of all Blue Stake Locations to make it all easier.
First Blue Stake
The first Blue Stake is between North Province (Area One) and North Province (Area Two). You need to get to Fury Falls and climb the highest mountain nearby. And, of course, for this, you need your Koraidon or Miraidon to be able to climb.
Second Blue Stake
This Blue Stake is located southeast of Fury Falls. Move to the edge of the map alongside the edge of the Area Zero boundary to find the Blue Stake in the ruins.
Third Blue Stake
You again need to climb one of the many mountains in North Province (Area Two). You need to find a mountain near the Pokemon Center. Right under the mountain is Eri's Fighting Crew Team Star base, so use that as a reference point.
Fourth Blue Stake
To find this Blue Stake, you need to go to Levincia. Climb the mountain north of the city again and, under a large tree, you can find the fourth Blue Stake.
Fifth Blue Stake
This Blue Stake is slightly further north than the previous four. Get to the base of Glaseado Mountain and look for ledges. On one of them, you will find the fifth Blue Stake.
Sixth Blue Stake
From the previous location, head northeast to Tagtree Thicket. There you can find the Poison Crew base. And next to this base on the plateau is the Blue Stake you need.
Seventh Blue Stake
Then head to the North Province Center (Area One). Climb up the hill near the Pokemon Center to find the penultimate Blue Stake.
Eighth Blue Stake
Finally, to get to the last Blue Stake, you have to go almost to the very north of the region to the foot of Glaseado Mountain. There you will find yourself on a beautiful coast with the final Blue Stake in view. Pulling it out of the ground will open the Firescourge Shrine.
How to get to Firescourge Shrine
After you have pulled all eight Blue Stakes out of the ground, you will hear a mysterious cry. It will signal that the Firescourge Shrine has been unlocked. However, unlike other Shrines, this one is well hidden.
Therefore, to find the Firescourge Shrine, you must travel to the location where you found the first Blue Stake. There, next to Fury Falls, you can find a cave leading to the Shrine. Finally, when you reach the Firescourge Shrine, you will be able to face the legendary Chi-Yu.
If you need a pointer, use the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet history answers. The shrine map is a class reward for the final exam.
How to get Chi-Yu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Chi-Yu is a Dark and Fire-type Pokémon, so Rock, Ground, Fighting, and Water-type moves will be the most effective during battle. This Pokemon will be level 60, so you will need to prepare before the battle.
Here are the Chi-Yu Moves you have to face:
- Bounce - Chi-Yu jumps into the sky and lands on the enemy in the next turn with a chance to paralyze them.
- Swagger - Chi-Yu increases the opponent's Attack but confuses them.
- Ruination - Chi-Yu deals damage to the opponent equal to half of their current Health.
- Lava Plume - Chi-Yu deals high damage with a chance to cause Burn.
Luckily, even if you knock out Chi-Yu accidentally, you still have a chance to catch it. This Pokémon will respawn in the same location after some time. Saving before the fight will still make things easier, but forgetting to do that isn't the end of the world.
