We now finally know that everyone's favourite starter owl is coming home, so here's a quick note on how to get Rowlet in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. If you really like this Flying/Grass-type Pokemon, here's what you need to know to add it to your Paldean Pokedex and take it on your big adventure.
As well as going over how to find it, we go over what it is, the level that it evolves and a bit more information on it. The starter Pokemon are straightforward and can learn tonnes of moves - a great all-rounder for anyone looking to get far in the game.
If you want more information on the game, here's how Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Titans work and how Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids work. If you want even more, here's what we know about the Scarlet and Violet clothes you'll be able to wear.
Is Rowlet in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
Some early leaks from the game in the run-up to launch showed a complete Paldean Pokedex that included Rowlet.
Though not every starter Pokemon from past games is present in the list, those from the release of Pokemon Legends Arceus earlier in the year make an appearance.
Given Pokemon games regularly allow for transfers between recent releases and enjoy linking them together, it's a relatively safe bet to assume the leaks are correct. That being said, we'll update this page if they eventually turn out to be false.
How to get Rowlet in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
We haven't found them in the wild yet but it could come in the future. So far, the only way we know how to get Rowlet is by using the Pokemon Home function.
We already know that save data will get you new Rotom Phone Cases, so there's every chance that name NPC will give you starter that last featured in Pokemon Legends Arceus. If you have save data from that game on your system, that is.
What level does Rowlet evolve?
Rowlet evolves into Dartrix at level 17 and then into Decidueye at level 34. In Hisui, it evolves from Dartrix into Hisuian Decidueye at level 36.
The Pokedex shows the standard Decidueye form, however, so assume the level 34 evolution mechanic is back to stay.
