How to get a Horse in Rise of the Ronin
Since you already understand why you need a Horse, let's show you how to get one. Rise of the Ronin isn’t like other games that you might already be familiar with, so stealing a horse isn’t ideal. There are two ways in which you can get a Horse in Rise of the Ronin.
If you already have Silver in your possession, you can go to the Stable within the game and purchase a Horse. To find a Stable, you’ll need to navigate the path heading to the village of Ishikawa, which is filled with bandits, so there will be some fighting. Once you’ve beat up all the bandits and got to the village, you can then head over to the stable and purchase a Horse for yourself (please take into consideration the speed and stamina of the horse you wish to purchase, as this will affect their performance).
That's the first way you can get a Horse in Rise of the Ronin, and it’s only for those who already have purchasing power. The other way you can purchase a horse involves some fighting, which will go down as the northernmost village of Honmoku. By using this method, you’ll need to sneak up on and beat up five thugs, hence restoring public order to the village.
Once the thugs have been defeated, you can then interact with the Veiled Edge Banner before heading over to the path where Horses are grazing. At this point, you’ll have to interact with the stray the Horses are grazing on and this will grant you a Horse Flute with which you can summon a horse. While playing, you can summon your new Horse by simply dragging the Horse Flute from the Equipment menu into your action load out.
With this tool on your action load out, you’ll be able to summon a horse anytime you need one. Note that to blow the flute and summon your horse, you’ll need to press the D-Pad key in the area on the action loadout where the flute was placed. Now, just by blowing a flute, you’ll be able to navigate maps faster on the back of a powerful Horse.
