Brookhaven RP is a highly loved Roblox game where players can explore endless creative possibilities.
Emotes let your character show personality through animations. This article explains how to use them effectively.
How to Use Emotes
When it comes to emotes, you have two choices.
You can use the default Roblox ones or the built-in Brookhaven options.
But when you attempt to use Roblox’s default emotes, you may get a message saying that "emotes are disabled in this experience."
This is because Brookhaven RP doesn’t use standard Roblox emotes and has its own animation system, which is made for role-playing.
Instead of the usual emote library, Brookhaven features a built-in animation system.
The in-game menu provides easy access to actions like dancing, saluting, backflipping, and more.
To use the built-in animations, select the avatar icon, the fourth one on the right side of the screen.
You’ll then see a range of animations available to choose from.
This option is excellent for players who haven’t invested much in the default ones or for newcomers since Brookhaven has plenty of free ones.
However, despite the restriction, you can still use the default Roblox emotes, especially if you've purchased some and want to show them off in Brookhaven.
Start by launching Brookhaven RP and tap the three lines in the top-left corner of the screen.
Emotes will initially be disabled. To enable them, go to the avatar customization menu (pencil icon) on the right side of the screen.
Select the red-outfit avatar option, then click the second avatar option. When you see Change to Roblox Avatar? you know you made the right choice.
Just click the thumbs-up button, and you can go back and try the default emotes that were previously disabled.
Another way to use emotes is through chat commands. This approach works well if you like typing.
Press the / key to open the chat. Then, type/e
followed by the specific emote name to perform it.
For instance, typing /e Hello
will trigger a waving animation. This generally gets around their restriction, though it's not foolproof.
At the time of writing, the trick still works.
