Are you looking to compare the Tekken 8 Deluxe vs Ultimate editions to see which one might be best for you? Then we're here to help.

The next entry in Bandai Namco's iconic fighting game franchise is set to debut on 26 January, offering players a wide variety of versions they can get their hand on, both in digital and physical formats.

In this guide, we'll compare what the Tekken 8 Deluxe and Ultimate editions offer and see what's right for you. With that said, let's begin.

Tekken 8 Deluxe vs Ultimate edition: which to buy?

Both versions of the game offer plenty of perks for a similar price. To jog your memory a bit this is what each version has in store for you.

Deluxe edition

  • Base game
  • Playable Character Year 1 Pass: Four DLC characters and a Kinjin avatar skin
  • Character costume: Gold Suit Pack. One costume per each playable character (32 total)

Ultimate edition

  • All Deluxe edition content
  • Avatar costume: Classic Tekken T-Shirt set (32 designs)
  • Avatar skins: Kazuya Mishima, Jin Kazama, and Jun Kazama

In terms of costs, the Deluxe edition of Tekken 8 costs $99.99/£94.99, while the Ultimate comes at a cost of $109.99/£104.99, so while the price increase is minimal, it might be worth saving a bit of money if you're not interested in the extra content.

In short, the only thing the Ultimate edition has for players is a bunch of avatar cosmetics for the Tekken 8 lobby system which will work similarly to Street Fighter 6. It doesn't offer unique outfits for the main roster of fighters.

So, our recommendation is that, if you're not that interested in avatar customisation in Tekken 8, then save yourself some money and purchase the slightly cheaper Deluxe edition, which comes with all season 1 DLC and costumes for the actual fighters.

And that's about it. Remember that Tekken 8 is just a few weeks away, so you better check out those PC system requirements in case you want to play it putting that new rig you got for Christmas to the test.
