Looking for information surrounding The Finals crossplay? We've got you covered. It wasn't long ago when crossplay was a unicorn feature that gamers yearned for in their favourite FPS games but hardly ever received. However, with games like Apex Legends or releases in the COD franchise now including this feature, things are a little different.
Now, crossplay is a feature gamers have come to expect from any modern FPS release. So, with The Finals looking to be the next big FPS on the market, whether or not it's crossplay is an important aspect to those looking to get into the game.
We also have other The Finals guides on the best loadouts and class, as well as information on whether it is coming to PS4.
Is The Finals crossplay?
Yes, The Finals does allow for crossplay between players on different platforms. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Crossplay allows for all these player bases to get into teams and matches with each other, regardless of platform.
This alone is great news, but The Finals goes a step further to allow for cross-progression between platforms. This means that players can retain their progress across different platforms by connecting a single account to each one.
So, if you plan on picking up The Finals on multiple platforms, go right ahead. Cross-progression will allow you to seamlessly switch between playing on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC without having to grind out your account on each one individually.
How to disable crossplay in The Finals
On the other hand, some players might not want to play against opponents using a mouse and keyboard or a controller with their consoles' in-built aim assist. For these players, The Finals also includes an option letting them opt out of matchmaking with players from other platforms.
Crossplay will be switched on by default, so to turn this off, head to the game's settings menu and navigate to the Gameplay section. Here, look for the setting labelled Crossplay and switch it off. Whether or not you do this is entirely up to your personal preference.
Regardless of which you choose, the inclusion of all these features certainly gives The Finals a ton of legitimacy in the hyper-competitive modern FPS landscape.
