The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom puts the titular princess in the limelight, with Zelda being the main playable character for the latest installment of the franchise. Many may wonder how will Zelda fight the hordes of enemies plaguing the Hyrule Kingdom without her trusted knight, Link. Luckily for Zelda, a fairy named Tri lends her the Tri Rod and assists her with the rifts ravaging the kingdom.

As Zelda journeys to restore the land, she and Tri will encounter Rifts in the Still World. These areas are part of the overworld that was absorbed by the glowing rift. Within these rifts lies a mysterious sword that lets Zelda fight just like Link himself. Here's a quick guide on how to obtain the Mysterious Sword.

The Mysterious Sword is a unique tool

What Is The Mysterious Sword?

At the beginning of the story, Link gets absorbed by the rift, including his Sword of Might. This sword has the power to defeat enemies summoned by the rift and has been in Link's possession since it was crafted by Lueberry. Now that Link is missing, this mysterious sword is stuck in the rift, and Zelda and Tri are the only ones who can retrieve it.

How To Obtain The Mysterious Sword?

During the main quest The Mysterious Rifts, Zelda and Tri will have to save Tri's friends to mend the rift that is affecting Lueberry's hut. Follow the quest prompts and Tri will lead Zelda to an entrance that they can use to access the rift.

Crossing the Stilled Suthorn Forest can be troublesome

Once inside the Stilled Suthorn Forest area inside the rift, an enormous dilapidated building waits at the end of the route. As you traverse the twisted terrain of the Still World, Tri will mention that they can rescue people stuck in the rift as long as they mend this rift, or else these people will be gone forever. Once you've reached the building, enter it and prepare to solve the dungeon.

The Suthorn Ruins dungeon is the first dungeon that you'll encounter in The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. It showcases the classic Zelda dungeon format, complete with floors, puzzles, and keys to finish the dungeon. Be mindful though, as this first dungeon also contains the first mini-boss for the game.

This is also the dungeon where Tri will teach Zelda the Bind and the Reverse Bond abilities. Use Bind on the large boulder in the next room to reveal a pathway to the switch that opens the door. Follow the dungeon's path until you reach the 2nd floor.

At the end of the hallway on the 2nd floor, a Darknut awaits the duo. Defeat this to learn the Darknut Echo. Turn left to proceed to the next rooms of the Suthorn Ruins.

Learn some Echoes along the way

The next area will shift the camera to side-scrolling, and Zelda will have to light the braziers using the Ignizol Echo. This will unlock the door to access the ladder entrance to the next room.

The next room will revert the camera to normal. Activate the waypoint to be able to access this room anytime. There will be four statues within this room, with one statue holding a shield. Target the shield and use the Bind ability to remove the shield from the statue's grasp. This will unlock the door leading to a mini-boss fight.

There will be three Darknuts to defeat in the huge hallway in the next room. Once these Darknuts are defeated, walk up the stairs to trigger a cutscene.

Time for a very unique boss fight!

Zelda will now have to battle the Still World version of Link. This Link will block any damage coming from the front as long as he has his shield up. Wait for him to drop his guard and summon Echoes to deal damage. Another way to beat him is to summon the Darknut Echo and throw pots at Link as he fights the Darknut Echo. These pots contain hearts that can replenish Zelda's health. Zelda can also run around the stone walls within the area to hide from Link and deal damage from afar.

Once you've defeated the Still World version of Link, it will drop the Mysterious Sword and the stone door will open the path forward. Having the Mysterious Sword now gives Zelda the ability to shift into Swordfighter Form.

It's Link's sword!

While in Swordfighter Form, Zelda will be able to defend using the shield and she will be able to jump higher than normal. Zelda can now also charge the sword for a spin attack.

And there you have it, you now have the Mysterious Sword in your possession. Use this to advance the story and rescue Hyrule from the menacing rifts surrounding the kingdom. Check out the rest of our fantastic The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom guides and save Link!
