To ride the Gigantrite in Throne and Liberty, a few steps must be taken to ensure success. This massive flying whale soars across the skies at specific intervals. It allows players to explore, collect resources, and unlock special codex entries.

Before attempting to ride the Gigantrite, you need to unlock the Glide Morph ability. This transformation ability allows you to glide long distances and is essential for reaching the whale. You can unlock this ability through quests, defeating enemies, or purchasing it from the in-game store.

While it doesn’t matter which Glide Morph you choose, having a morph that lets you cover a fair distance is key to landing on a whale's back. Gigantrite spawns approximately every three hours.

Check the in-game map or event calendar to know exactly when it will appear. You’ll also receive a server-wide notification when the creature is about to appear. Keep an eye on these timers, as knowing when and where Gigantrite will pass helps you position yourself better.

Once you know when Gigantrite is approaching, you’ll want to head to the Starlight Observatory Ruins. These ruins are located northwest of Vienta Village, and the tallest tower provides the best vantage point for jumping.

You can use grappling hooks or simply climb your way to the top, whichever is more convenient. As the whale flies past the ruins, you need to leap from the top of the tower and activate your Glide Morph to sail smoothly onto its back.

This part can be tricky, as many other players will also be attempting the same maneuver, and getting a clear line of sight can be challenging. Timing is everything here, as you need to align your leap with Gigantrite’s path.

Missing the whale’s back means waiting for another three-hour spawn cycle, so try to time your jump carefully. Besides considering the timing, also pay attention to the other players who may be trying to board Gigantrite at the same time.

It’s important to avoid bumping into others and losing your momentum as you glide toward the whale. Once you successfully land on Gigantrite, you’ll be free to explore its back. While the ride is mostly scenic, you can collect Marind Ore from resource nodes scattered on the whale’s body.

These are valuable for crafting, though competition with other players might make gathering difficult. Additionally, there’s an objective in the Nesting Grounds codex where you can find the Powerless Little Doll on Gigantrite, unlocking the Little Friend in the Sky codex entry.

You can discover this item tucked away among the rocks on the edge of Gigantrite's back, so thoroughly explore before getting off. Gigantrite sometimes also grants entry to Saurodoma Island, a hidden area in the map's southeastern corner.

This island contains quests and resources, but not every flight path will take you there. If you stay on for the entire ride, you can unlock a waypoint for future visits.

Although riding Gigantrite requires patience and timing to execute perfectly, the thrill of leaping onto this creature and gliding through the skies is something every player should experience at least once.
