Trapped in Time is one of the various levels in the Serpent Starway nebula in Astro Bot. As one would expect, this is set in a desert-like area with ancient ruins and pyramids. The atmosphere is defined by the theme of being "trapped" in timeless ruins.
Retrieving all three Puzzle Pieces in this Astro Bot level is trickier than in the earlier levels. The good news is you need to find only three puzzle pieces.
Our guide will help you navigate tricky areas to locate all the pieces.
Where To Find All Trapped in Time Puzzle Pieces
There are only three puzzle pieces, yet each is tucked away in spots where you wouldn’t expect to find them. The first puzzle piece is located before the level begins, the second is just outside the entrance, and the third is right before going back outside. Here’s a more detailed guide to finding the hidden pieces:
Trapped in Time Puzzle Piece #1
Spotting the first puzzle piece can be tricky since it appears before you even set foot in the hourglass. Watch for a large dune on your left as you fly in on your DualSense ship. As you get closer, a golden snake will begin to show itself and slither across the dune.
It can be easy to miss, so make sure to pay attention. When you see the snake, hit R2 to boost and aim straight at it. You might want to turn off motion controls for better precision, as it makes aiming while flying easier.
Once you hit it, the snake will drop the puzzle piece; if it doesn’t, keep targeting it. It will appear in front of you just before you reach the hourglass landing area. Fly through the puzzle piece to collect it before you touch down. If you miss the piece, a quick mission restart will let you try again.
Trapped in Time Puzzle Piece #2
The second puzzle piece becomes accessible only after breaking the first blue hourglass, emptying it of liquid, and using your Chicken Jetpack to pop the cork off the bottle. Once this is done, turn to the left to see a small area hidden under a platform where a green blob-like enemy lurks. Defeat the enemy, then press and hold Square to pull the wires up from below.
This will activate a flower booster that rises into the air like an umbrella. Jump onto the flower booster, and it will carry you upward. Once it reaches its peak, let go and immediately use your rocket ability (R2 or L2) to propel yourself higher with your jetpack. Target the upper part of the platform where the enemy was first seen as you go up. You should now be high enough to glide over and land safely. At the top, you will see a chain of enemies parading around a bottle that requires caution.
Attack each section of the chain, but be sure to back away when they start shaking, as they will release an electric shock if touched during this time. After defeating all the enemies, focus on the bottle itself. Stand before its archway and strike it repeatedly to break it open. Leap into the empty container once the liquid has drained from the bottle, and the next puzzle piece will be there for the taking.
Trapped in Time Puzzle Piece #3
As you make your way through the indoor area of this level, you’ll reach a point where arrows are embedded in the wall. After boosting past these arrows, you'll find yourself inside an hourglass-shaped room. Use the nearby flower lever to raise platforms with enemies on top. Nimbly hop across the platforms while defeating the electric enemies with Astro Bot's laser feet.
Be cautious when fighting them, as touching them will shock you. You will hit a checkpoint once the enemies are defeated. This area is covered with gold pieces and a glass floor beneath the enemies. The goal is to break this glass floor, revealing two platforms below, safe from the dangerous ooze surrounding them.
Glide over and land on one of the platforms. Now, pan the camera around to view the area properly. You should spot the final puzzle piece tucked away in a nook on a nearby ledge. Hop over to collect the piece after you see it.
