How to help the Deku Tree in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Whether you go off on your own adventure or wind up there as part of the main story, you'll need to follow a strict set of steps to help the Deku Tree in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Just like in a fair few other games, the legendary botanical beast isn't feeling too great. But it also doesn't know exactly why.

Down below, we'll make a quick effort to explain how to get the Deku Tree to speak to you in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. It's not that he won't say a word (unlike the Koroks surrounding up), but he won't tell you much about progressing the story until you deal with a problem he can't really explain.

How to help the Deku Tree in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Before you can help the Deku Tree, you first need to learn how to even reach it. You'll find the towering great oak in the Great Hyrule Forest just north of Hyrule Castle.

Specifically, it's found in the Korok Forest almost smack-bang in the middle of it. But you won't be able to reach it by walking in or diving down. The mist of the Lost Woods will send you straight back to where you came from - unless you read that guide there to solve the whole conundrum. We don't want to spoil the journey out of the blue.

Once you've reached the Deku Tree, he'll tell you that he has a stomach ache. Don't bother searching for some kind of plant food or disease-mending serum, though. There's a much more physical solution to his problem.

To help the Deku Tree in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you just need to head inside the tree and down the hole at the back of the room inside. Dive down and you'll wind up in a small, enclosed area of the Depths where a Gloom Hand awaits. And that's not the worst of it.

Deal with the treacherous threat(s) and you'll have cured the Deku Tree of his debilitating stomach problem. Simply speak to him again to hear tales of the past and learn where the Master Sword is.
