There's always a need for more life sim games, and it looks as though Alex Massé and the rest of the development team are more than willing to offer that with their upcoming life sim, Paralives.
Officially revealed in 2019, Paralives has been worked on for a very long time, but with regular video updates to let its future community know what to expect when the game releases.
With this gaming hub, we'll answer all your need-to-know questions about Paralives, from its release date to its early access features, trailers, and a whole lot more.
Paralives Early Access Release Date Estimate
Paralives has some big shoes to fill by the time of its early access release date in 2025.
When Paralives was first announced in 2019, only one person was working on it: Alex Masse. Since then, more people have been diligently working on the life sim game, which has helped ensure that it is released soon into early access in 2025.
Even so, this is an indie game, and the team working on Paralives is small. So, based on a release date estimate, we are speculating that the life sim will be released sometime in mid-to-late 2025 at the earliest.
If this release date does end up changing, either by being moved back or forward, we'll update our hub accordingly with all of the new details.
Paralives Release Date Estimate
Considering Paralives will be released into early access sometime in 2025, we speculate that the full version will be released at least two years afterward, in 2027.
Our reasoning is that with such a small team and at such a large scope, Paralives will take at least a couple of years to address player feedback while working towards creating a game that many have hyped up as a competitor for The Sims.
Will Paralives Come To Console?
At the time of writing, Paralives does not have any plans to release on console. The same can be said for mobile. Paralives will only be available on PC and Mac.
The reasoning for this makes sense, as Paralives Early Access is openly being worked towards for 2025, and working on something for consoles like the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch would undoubtedly delay the release even more.
Even so, this may change in the future as it took The Sims series several years before they started to be released on consoles also. Never say never.
Paralives Character Creator
Paralives has a unique character creator that's known as a Paramaker, or PAM for short.
With the Paramaker, players are able to create a unique variety of avatars through sliders. You can make your character tall, small, fat, thin, muscular, skinny, etc with different sliders and the use of your mouse to click and drag.
There is also a color wheel for hair, skin, eyes, clothes, tattoos and even clothing items. What's more, Parafolks are able to equip any outfit and have various facial and body hair--regardless of gender.
You can also customize your Parafolk's name, from their first name, middle name, last name and even their nickname.
As of now, it is unknown whether Paralives will allow players to customize their Parafolks gender. We'll be sure update this section of the hub if anything changes in the future, so stay tuned!
Does Paralives Have A Building Mode?
Alongside being able to create your own Parafolk, Paralives does give you control of building your own lots and buildings from scratch. In fact, the level of customization rivals that of The Sims.
As shown in the Paralives House Building video via the game developer's YouTube account, players are able to actively purchase a lot and design their own house with ease through drop and drag gameplay.
Customization is also varied, with Paralives allowing you to curate half-walls, circular rooms, and even curved walls that'll make your living space feel fresh and unique. There's a variety of windows, doors, and you're able to drag and expand different items like tables and sofas to offer more room and flexibility.
What's even more exciting, though, is that you can create a boat house. RESULT!

Will Paralives Have DLC Or Expansions?
Paralives will have expansions and DLC after its full release, but unlike other life sim games, these expansions will not cost a penny, and will be 100% free.
As shared via the Paralives FAQ, this does not mean that Paralives is a free-to-play game. While there currently is no price confirmed for the life sim, players wanting to get in on the Paralives action will need to fork over money to purchase it. Just not for the DLC or expansions.
Will Paralives Have Pets?
What's life without animals? Paralives will have pets in-game, though currently these are limited to three options: dogs, cats, and horses.
As confirmed by Alex Masse, Paralives will include the option of having a pet without having to shell out money for it. And, as far as we're able to tell, this will be available in the base game. No expansions necessary!
