The Ultimate Spellbook mode is back in League of Legends with patch 14.20, which was out last October 9, 2024. With the latest patch, Riot's general strategy has prioritized system adjustment before altering individual champions.
The developers made adjustments for champions that heavily depend on Eclipse and crit-based builds, especially those with limited alternatives, leading to buffs for Yasuo and Yone.
Our Ultimate Spellbook Tier List will help you pick the best ultimates that will give you an edge. Whether you're planning creative engages, zoning enemies, or going all-in with burst damage, selecting the right ultimate is crucial.
The recent patch also brings champion buffs and nerfs, so be sure to check out how these changes might affect your picks. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to this mode, this guide will help you dominate the battlefield in style!

What is the Ultimate Spellbook Tier List?
In Ultimate Spellbook, the game is pretty much a normal game. The big difference is that when you load into the game, you're presented with four ultimate abilities from a large pool of champions. Now, we don't have a full list of ultimates in the game, but we have a large number of them.
Now, these ultimates can range from simple damage ults like Ezreal's to heavy crowd-control utility ults like Bard's. But not all ults are created equal. Our Tier list is going to cover all the Ults that we know about and rank them.
Now, obviously, picking a strong ultimate is important, but this doesn't account for what champion you're playing. If you get a synergistic ult to go with your champion pick, that may be worth the pickup. Additionally, some of these may be higher tier based on what champ you end up picking.

With the Tier list, we had a few considerations for this when picking tiers. We thought about ease of use, how the ability could impact a team fight, and how good generally it's going to be.
Most of the abilities are helpful in some capacity, so you generally can't go wrong with any of these.
For abilities like Nilah, the healing and shielding abilities of nearby allies can really help the team. For Support, crowd control ults like Annie's can help provide great utility during laning and team fights.
As for abilities to avoid, the only real one to avoid is Zoe's ultimate. Her ultimate lets you hop through a portal, appear somewhere else, and then go back to your original portal. While you can technically use ability before taking the return portal, the ability requires some really good coordination from your team to be able to pull it off. Additionally, it doesn't provide the team any real utility or damage, so it's definitely at the bottom.

Side bar, the new narrator in Ultimate Spellbook, the one that says, "Minions have spawned" and what not? It's Ahri, and while the voice isn't bad, the lines are. So while we love some Ahri, the voice lines fall clear into the F tier.
And that's all we have! Ultimate Spellbook is incredibly fun, so definitely give it a try! If more ultimates are on this list that we find, we'll update it so stay tuned!
