In our lead up to the Fortnite World Cup, we've been covering a handful of players to watch out for this weekend. We've recently covered Noah “Vivid” Wright and Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson, now we turn our attention to Cody “Clix” Conrod, who has established himself as one of the most promising rising stars in competitive Fortnite. As of late, the young Misfits gaming star has warranted the attention of many throughout the World Cup Qualifiers and all eyes have gathered upon him going into New York City as he has his eyes set on the Fortnite World Cup Prize Pool.
From his dominate end game clutches to his hilarious duo arena matches with Twitch superstar Turner “Tfue” Tenney there has been a lot of talk around Clix as of late. Although he is considered as one of the favorites going into New York City, many have speculated that he may not transfer his online skills to his first professional LAN with millions watching, but no one should take their eyes off of the young star.

World Cup Qualifier
Going into the World Cup Qualifiers Clix was a rather unknown player in the broad spectrum that competitive Fortnite is. In the past, he did not muster any notable placements in the online cups and had little to no LAN experience, but did he ever catch people’s eyes during the qualifiers.
Clix has qualified five times out of the 10 weeks over the course of solo and duos, his first solo qualification, however, came during week three where he finished seventh place. Although seventh place is outside of qualification territory, he was fortunate that some players above him were already qualified foregoing their spot to the next highest seed. Clix qualified landing at Neo-Tilted during week three, which is where we see a lot of professional players land now in season 9, due to its “downgrade” since the removal of the famous Tilted Towers.
His World Cup Qualifier statistics show the ultra intensive player that Clix can be, with over half of his points coming off the back end of eliminations, it is no wonder Clix chooses to land at Neo-Tilted. His qualifier statistics are some of the best throughout the tournament for both solos and duos and it is no surprise he is one of the best players going into New York City.

Playstyle
Unlike previous player profiles we have written in the lead up towards the Fortnite World Cup Finals, such as Noah “Vivid” Wright and Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson, Clix is in a field of his own in regards to his playstyle. Clix is notorious for his hyper-aggressive in-your-face playstyle that resulted in him having over half of his points during the qualifiers end up being eliminations. Clix is consistently seen pushing the mantle and getting in your face during engagements, never letting up so his opposition does not have a second to breathe.
With this playstyle however comes controversy, there have been numerous points of discussion that has been brought up to whether or not Clix’s aggressive playstyle will work against 99 other top professional players on LAN. As someone who also plays on zero ping, which is considered to give a massive competitive advantage in Fortnite, with the ability to easily wall replace someone and get off first shots, it is still up for debate if Clix will be that aggressive on LAN.

Looking Forward
For Clix, the Fortnite World Cup Finals can be the most pivotal moment in his young life thus far. The chance to become a multi-millionaire at such a young age is unheard of but as the days go by it seems as this imagination may become a reality soon enough.

Will we see Clix crumble under the pressure of millions of eyes watching him? Or will we see the dominance that he displayed during the qualifiers, but this time against the best professional players in the world?
