Season 3 of Black Ops Cold War is just around the corner and while a lot of attention is focused on what's going on in Verdansk, there are plenty of things to get excited about for Cold War too!

Release Date
As of writing, (April 19th) there has been no news surrounding the exact release of the new update.
It's widely believed that the update will go live on April 22nd after the Warzone event has taken place.
Thanks to Activision's exclusivity deal with Sony, it's also likely PlayStation players will be able to pre-load update 1.16 a few days before release which will enable players to jump straight into the action as soon as the new season goes live.

Size
According to @PlaystationSize, update 1.16 will be around 12GB for PS5 players.
PC and Xbox players can expect the update to be of a similar size.

Treyarch has teased just one piece of content arriving as part of update 1.16.
The video shows a brief glimpse at the Duga satellite array that featured in the ending of the campaign along with the infamous purple portal from Outbreak. It looks like a new area is being added to the large-scale Zombies mode!
As for maps and weapons, the developer has remained tight-lipped on what's arriving in Season 3 but several leaks have suggested a few classic Black Ops weapons will be arriving alongside a remake of Standoff.
Patch Notes
Patch notes for update 1.16 have yet to be revealed but we can get a rough idea on what to expect based on previous updates.
Along with the new content, it's likely that there will be a range of bug fixes implemented across multiplayer, Zombies, and the campaign alongside modifications to some of the multiplayer weapon arsenal.
