Black Ops Cold War: New PC Features Announced - DirectX 12, Ray-Tracing and More

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War will be the first COD on next-gen consoles.

The multiplayer reveal today gave us an ample amount of news, from new maps to new perks and more!

One aspect that was touched on is how they are making adjustments for PC players.

 

DirectX 12

Talking to David Vonderhaar during the latter portions of the live stream.

Marc-Alexandre Milot who works for Beenox was talking about the new improvements and features that PC players are going to have.

The first, and perhaps most notable feature he mentioned was that Black Ops Cold War will be running on DirectX 12!

This is a massive step in the right direction for PC players. 

As well, this will lead to a more responsive and optimized game for most players. 

 

Nvidia

By now, most of you are aware of the partnership with Call of Duty and Nvidia, and this will continue for Black Ops Cold War.

The following features will be available upon release for PC players:

  • Ray Tracing
  • Deep Learning Super Sampling
  • Nvidia Reflex Low Latency Technology 

These features are going to help the overall quality of the game, as some of the shadows and lighting in the game will appear crisper and more natural.
