The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 Alpha has come to an end and the next stop on the road to the full launch will be the Modern Warfare 2019 beta. The open Alpha was the first time all PS4 players got the chance to get their hands on the latest instalment in the Call of Duty franchise. With so many people playing the new Gunfight mode, and getting to grips with the new weapons and movement mechanics, here are some of the thoughts from the community.
The Community Verdict
Newly crowned world champion James “Clayster” Eubanks looked like he was having fun in the new game until the inevitable happened. Whilst playing on King, he races to the middle of the map before falling to his death much to his confusion.
day 1 and this only happens to me, 100 hp, anyone care to explain? pic.twitter.com/l4hN329tmh

Meanwhile, former world champ Patrick "Aches" Price expressed his opinions surrounding some of the weapon mechanics within the alpha. It is more than likely that weapons and other mechanics will receive some amount of balancing and tuning ahead of the open beta which begins on September 12th.
Headshot multiplier just HAS to get tuned in COD: MW. Flinch, recoil, hipfire giving random headshot kills because of how strong it is. Really hope they majorly adjust that.

Plenty of people seemed to love the different feel of the title while maintaining elements that made the original Modern Warfare trilogy great. This user enjoyed the game but also felt that Gunfight got repetitive quickly. The test for some more traditional Call of Duty gameplay will be in the beta, where Gunfight will be returning along with various new maps and modes.
CoD 2v2 is fun but got pretty samey-samey after a few games. The real deal is the beta next month. I wanna play 20v20 again.

Three-time world champion Damon "Karma" Barlow shared his concerns with Modern Warfare too. During the Alpha, he said that the game didn't feel like it was running at 60 frames per second, the optimum performance for console games. As it's only an Alpha, we can expect Infinity Ward to rectify any issues that had occured over the weekend.
I feel like this beta doesn't seem like 60fps the whole time am I crazy? (I only played for maybe 2 hours)

Call of Duty commentator and expert Bricey displayed his admiration for the re-imagining of the Modern Warfare name. With some shotguns and pistols being able to perform well in long range situations, it is more than likely that we will see a weapon balance when the beta is released.
