Breakdown
- Atari has bought the Intellivision and has promised to release the Amico
- Fans have lost faith in the Amico coming out, due to how long it's taken and the multiple crowd funding needed
- Ex-Intellivision CEO Tommy Tallarico was outed by HBomberGuy years ago for being a scam artist and a hack
Atari has bought Intellivision Entertainment and will fulfill their duties to release the Amico system, after all of these years of the system being a joke. Now that Intellivision has been bought by a legitimate brand, we think it’s safe to say that Tommy Tallarico’s mother is very proud of this.
In a statement released by Globe News Wire, Atari confirmed that they have purchased Intellivision and some of the company’s old game licenses. The company then announced that they have plans to release some of their older games and maybe even make new titles based on these properties.
When it comes to the Amico console that was announced by Tommy Tallarico all of those years ago, Atari plans to release it in the near future. No release date for the system was announced, which isn’t anything new at this point, but Intellivision CEO Phil Adam did say Atari would help with their release.
“Atari has been a valuable partner and we have every confidence they will be a responsible steward of the storied Intellivision brand,” Adam said. “We look forward to our expanded collaboration and bringing a broad array of new Atari and Intellivision titles to the Amico and Amico Home family gaming platforms.”
For those wondering who Tallarico is, he was a fairly well-known music producer for video games back in the ‘90s and 2000’s. However, Tallarico gained notoriety when YouTube personality HBomberGuy showed everyone how fake some of Tallarico’s accomplishments were with a brutal video takedown. One funny thing that came from that video is Tallarico constantly saying “My mother’s very proud” every time he talked about his Guinness World Records.
In addition to having fake accomplishments, Tallarico notoriously scammed fans with the Amico, making millions of dollars through two different crowd-funding sites. Hopefully, Atari now being on the helm will mean that this supposed game console will finally come out. After all, it’s the only place we can play Earthworm Jim 4 in.
