Another year, another dose of copium for the desperate and hungry Bloodborne fans. The hype for Bloodborne Remastered continues after FromSoftware mysteriously announced that it’s getting maintenance on December 3rd.

However, what excited people was not the scheduled maintenance but the timing. It coincides with the rumored 30th Anniversary Event for PlayStation on December 3rd.

This got every Bloodborne fan on X and Facebook to fill their veins with hopium. Of course, this doesn’t always end well. Time and time again, Sony ignores or won't acknowledge Bloodborne. But maybe they do?

Notable videogame insider Jeff Grubb immediately said there’s nothing to look forward to. Not even the iconic Jason Schreier has mentioned this, so fans are likely setting themselves up again for disappointment.

Even with all the naysayers, there could be potential for a major Bloodborne reveal, as some fans say— with their face covered in clown makeup.

There has been a constant tug-of-war over whether this indicates a Remaster or just standard online maintenance for its servers. After all, FromSoft is known to perform annual server maintenance for Bloodborne. But why does it weirdly coincide with the upcoming 30th Anniversary Event?

Okay, assume I’m wearing a full-on clown costume right now; what if they shadow-drop Bloodborne Remaster? This could improve their PlayStation 5 Pro sales, and the game would benefit from the Pro’s hardware. That way, Sony is killing two birds with one stone.

Sony has teased over the past few weeks that something big could happen on December 3. This post from the subreddit r/GamingLeaksAndRumors speculates that this rumor could be true, as there was a State of Play in December 2019 to mark its 25th anniversary.

This could also mean Sony plans to take over this year’s Game Awards, where they could showcase their upcoming titles as world premiers. So many games are rumored to be in their pipeline, including Horizon Online and that new Naughty Dog IP.

But hey, imagine me wearing the clown costume again. Wouldn’t having a State of Play instead of paying Geoff Keighley for a trailer feature be more economical? Hmmm.

Kidding aside, these are all baseless rumors, but the potential for Sony to announce something BIG during its 30th Anniversary Event could send shockwaves through the industry. We need something here, Sony. We’re tired of the endless Remasters and Remakes.
