Helldivers 2 has received its biggest update yet, giving players more weapons to blast alien bugs with and better options for online multiplayer. Unfortunately, despite how awesome this update is, the 170 countries that were playing this game on PC still won’t be able to do so.
Patch 01.000.4000 has been released and it includes a ton of new things for players to do in this acclaimed shooter. Weapons like the Orbital Gattling Cannon have been buffed, so players can take down armored foes much easier now. Enemy supply lines can now be seen on the galactic map, showing players where their foes are.
Other great improvements in Helldivers 2 include adjustments to the extreme weather events, super samples in the extreme difficulty missions, and so much more. Gamers can also finally start invite-only lobbies, a beloved feature that many of these fans have been asking for.
This is all great, so it’s a shame that Sony still refuses to bring the shooter back to over 170 countries that were able to play it before. While the devs at Arrowhead Game Studios have tried to help out in this situation, it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. As it stands, it seems that PlayStation is very content with limiting the availability of their PC games and that’s just disappointing.
It’s not just multiplayer games like Helldivers 2 that are affected, as players in these countries can’t even buy Ghost of Tsushima on PC. Even though the PSN linking is only needed for the multiplayer, Sony still pulled it from stores for the aforementioned countries. The company will likely do the same for their upcoming God of War Ragnarok.
Helldivers 2 is readily available on PlayStation 5 and PC, but there are millions of people who are locked out from playing it. Considering how the game was beloved around the world, seeing cool updates like this just hurts since there are so many people who can’t experience it.
