Kena: Bridge of Spirits is an adorable game filled with character and it's finally coming to Xbox after being a PlayStation console exclusive. While the game did come out on PC, those with an Xbox console had no way of playing this for the longest time, but that will change this August.
The former PlayStation exclusive just released its Xbox trailer, showing that this cute action game is going to add more color to Microsoft’s console lineup. Fans won’t have to wait too long to check this out, as the game comes to both Xbox Series and Xbox One on August 15.
Here’s what Ember Lab COO Josh Grier had to say about Kena coming to Xbox (via VGC):
“We’re thrilled to bring the story of Kena to a new audience on Xbox platforms. As our debut game, Kena means a great deal to everyone at the studio and the team is excited to share Kena’s journey with more players – we really hope everyone enjoys meeting Kena and her Rot friends.”
One of the first PS5 games revealed for the console, Kena: Bridge of Spirits made its way to PS4, PS5, and PC way back in September 21. The game reviewed well, thanks to some solid gameplay and a gorgeous Disney-esque artstyle. It was deemed a success by developer Ember Lab and even received some free DLC a few years after release.
Maximum Entertainment has also confirmed that this former PlayStation exclusive will have physical Xbox copies, which are proving to be more rare these days. Xbox has essentially embraced the all-digital future, but it’s good to see companies still try to make physical copies of these games.
It will be interesting to see what kind of impact Kena makes on Xbox, as fans start to embrace games with more personality. Astro Bot ended up being the most talked-about game during Sony’s most recent State of Play and we could get more games like it across all systems.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series on August 15. The game is also readily available on PS4, PS5, and PC.
