The recent Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update was only supposed to add New Game Plus and some costumes, but it has given irresponsible fans ultimate power. Insomniac Games accidentally gave players access to a debug menu, which lets them go crazy with the game's assets in ways they shouldn’t.
Fans have discovered a crazy amount of content in the debug menu, ranging from older demos of the game to a full-fledged playable Venom. DLC for the sequel may have also been leaked, as the debug menu also reveals a “Beetle Villain Arc,” shown off here by Twitter user justin.
All of this is unfortunate for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 developers, as they originally just wanted to add New Game Plus and some costumes. Various fixes have also been made, with fans confirming that the Sam Raimi movie costume was fixed in the most recent update. We’ve seen the devs fix costumes for the game before and we won’t be surprised if more are made.
While we’re sure the leak of this debug menu is disappointing, it shouldn’t hurt the game in any way since it did pretty well in sales. Now that we know more DLC is on the way, sales could go up as the game gets more content. That’s not even mentioning a possible PC port of the game, something PC and Steam Deck fans can’t wait to get their hands on.
Debug menu aside, it seems that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is another great outing for the timeless superhero. Critics and fans alike have been mostly kind to the game, though there are degenerates who have bullied some of the actors off social media. Now that Insomniac is three for three when it comes to Spider-Man games, we can’t wait to see what they do with Wolverine.
