Modern Warfare 3 player demonstrates perfect counter to snipers

A Modern Warfare 3 player has demonstrated an excellent counter to sniper rifles dominating long-distance battles.

As Season 1 of Modern Warfare 3 moves into view, players loading into their favourite maps and game modes are uncovering a wealth of techniques to gain an advantage throughout a match.

With a wide range of guns and weapons to choose from, sniper rifles are capable of dominating long-distance duels thanks to their ability to score kills with a single bullet. At closer distances, they're far less effective and one fan has found the perfect way to stop their control over open areas of the battlefield.

To combat unsuspecting snipers, user milosterling took to Reddit with a short clip showcasing how to tackle any sharpshooters locking players into a specific area of the map.

Instead of using their preferred weapon, the player manages to place a claymore directly in front of the opponent laying prone with a sniper in hand. As a result, there's nowhere to go, guaranteeing another elimination. After stamping the clip with a seal of approval, other players are wondering how it was possible to remain undetected. One player says: "We aren't even playing the same game. I would've never been able to run freely like that in any map without getting laserbeamed from every window."

Another fan jokes: "You should've texted look behind you." Tackling unsuspecting snipers is something many are trying in Modern Warfare 3. One player has recreated an iconic meme video involving in-game text chat to defeat a sharpshooter unaware of the threat behind them.

For those looking for guaranteed kills during a Modern Warfare 3 match, placing a claymore directly in front of a sniper is a great way to do so. However, with several different assault rifles and marksman rifles to choose from, it's easy to tackle the opposition with a bit more firepower and less risk of another enemy halting your progress. As the cycle progresses, there are bound to be even more elaborate ways to score kills.
