Nintendo leaks have been all over the place in recent weeks, as some sources were able to correctly predict the most recent Switch direct. After recent events revealed some details, it seems that the company is now confident that they won’t have leaks anytime soon.

In the company’s most recent shareholders meeting (transcribed by NStyles), the company said they were made aware of people leaking their info and are working on it. The legendary publisher has since said that they’re working with specialist companies to make sure nothing else gets leaked.

“We have become aware of the specific issues pointed out through media reports and other sources,” Nintendo said. “We work with specialist companies to diagnose information security and take various other measures. The company has introduced information security management as part of its internal information security system, and is also working on continuous education for employees.”

For those unaware, gaming insider Pyoro revealed that their source actually works at Nintendo, which has led to these major changes. Pyoro has since made their account private, but it seems that the damage was done and the company is now going into overdrive to make sure this does not happen.

Leaks in the gaming industry have become pretty normal in recent years, with some speculating that a couple of them are done on purpose. Obviously, there’s no proof of that, but they have been able to generate hype and that can’t be ignored. Some leakers are more reliable than others, but fans should just know never to 100% trust them.

There have been plenty of Nintendo leaks over the years and it’s rare to see some of them come true, if we’re being honest. Many claims have been made about the Twilight Princess and Wind Waker HD ports coming to Switch but that hasn’t happened. With the Switch 2 coming out soon, we imagine that these “leaks” are only going to get more outlandish, some of which might be true.
